yeah I know they are opponents now, but knowing that is your future teammate in the league that everybody in the world wants to play in (except Ilya Kovalchuk) is just baffling to me. Then the comments are even worse. I really liked Erne throughout camp and preseason, but this incident bothers me a little. - BoltsFan4Life
When you're playing hockey, you are playing hockey. His team is the Ramperts, not the Lightning. |

No doubt but we also went to the Conference finals in 11. Washington was more than competitive the last few years just like the Canucks but couldn't finish either. It's all about Cups not Presidents Cups. Last ten years WEST 5 EAST 4 lockout 1 and 3 of the 4 East Cups against Northwest. All seven game finals. I know youre a Westie but the facts are facts no one remembers anything but Cup Winners. - tpd11
Actually, when talking about which division/conference has been better, people do remember a lot more than Cups. They remember who has been competitive. Playoffs since the 04/05 lockout:
Atlantic has teams in the first round 28 times, second 15, third 7, finals 4, 1 Cup.
Pacific has teams in the first round 25 times, second 13, third 8, finals 2, 2 Cups.
Central has teams in the first round 23 times, second 12, third 6, finals 4, 3 Cups.
Northeast has teams in the first round 23 times, second 11, third 6, finals 3, 1 Cup.
Northwest has teams in the first round 16 times, second 7, third 2, finals 2, 0 Cups.
Southeast has teams in the first round 13 times, second 6, third 3, finals 1, 1 Cup.
Southeast vs. Northwest for level of competitiveness is arguable, but both were clearly lagging behind the rest of the league in the salary cap era.
Erne's second suspend-able type hit in less than 3 months. Doesn't matter if both were unintentional, he really needs to learn to be more responsible or he is going to develop a reputation that is hard to shake. |

Of course you change the time frame to eliminate the Bolts Cup Run in 03-04 try including what was discussed and then compare. |

Erne is going to be a beast just has to stop questionable hits and definitely not someone from your own organization. |

They are not the same organization when they play each other, last night they were opponents. |

What was discussed was the comment of the "South least." You decided to pick an arbitrary time frame which would favor you most. I examined from one of the two logical points, the major change of the 04/05 lockout (the other would have been when the divisions were set.)
Additionally, the idea that a Cup winning team coming from a division makes the division good is just flawed. If Chicago were in a division with Florida, Edmonton, Buffalo, and Calgary the last 4 years, that division wouldn't be considered good because it had a team winning the Cup. |

My comment was the last ten years period. |

I really don't think you'll find many people who believe that the Southeast and Northwest were two of the stronger divisions of the past few seasons. |
