EE is on fire

The James Neal one was beyond disgraceful.

Eric Engels ‏@EricEngels 3m
Lastly, I really don't care what Phaneuf was thinking last night. He could've broken Miller's neck with that one. 3-4 games.

Eric Engels ‏@EricEngels 4m
And Pascal Dupuis, who disguised his slash on Chris Kelly as going for a loose puck, knew exactly what he was doing. Broken fibula, 2-3gms

Eric Engels ‏@EricEngels 5m
Thornton should get at least 10, but if NHL's smart, they give him at least 20. Nobody should think doing what he did would only cost 'em 10

Eric Engels ‏@EricEngels 7m
Weighing in on Saturday's shenanigans, here's my view. James Neal should be suspended at least five games. DISGUSTING! (1/...)

what is beyond idiotic is Thornton saying he didn't wanted to hurt Orpik

What the (frank) were you trying to do then?

Thornton just snaps sometimes. we used to see it all the time when our rivalry with Boston was really simmering in the Kovalev days. he does stuff that really makes you scratch your head.

Lineup for the Dogs Saturday

St-Pierre - Holland - Thomas
Owens - Dumont - Blunden
Tarnasky - Macenauer - Leblanc
Zurevinski - Nattinen - Fournier

Tinordi - Dietz
Beaulieu - Pateryn
Chouinard - McIver

Mayer

My thoughts:

- Fournier looked fine after missing hockey for a few weeks. Didn't look bad in his tilt with HW Staubitz. Hit the post on a nice setup by Nattinen, who looks very strong on faceoffs, he was even used for the last few ones at the end of the game. Good game for the two of them.

- Leblanc is clearly driving his line forward, Tarnasky is struggling when he has the puck and Macenauer is not very good, for a guy who has already played in the NHL. Good game for Louis, good hustle on a few plays.

- Dumont and Blunden are very good AHLers, with their speed they are always dangerous. It says a lot about the step between the AHL and the NHL, Blunden looks like a borderline player in the NHL, but in the AHL he's dominant. Dumont should be the 13th forward next year for the Habs.

- Owens didn't look half bad, but I don't think there is much offensively in his game, just makes the good simple plays, no turnovers, he can play in that league.

- Thomas/Holland/St-Pierre were the best line by far. Holland is probably the best Bulldog player right, he was dangerous multiple times during the game, Thomas and him seem to have built some chemistry.

- Good game overall for Beaulieu, a few turnovers, but he's smart enough, or fast enough to recover from those mistakes. When he's on the ice it's pretty apparent.

- Tinordi and Pateryn were rock solid, Greg has a good shot, and he isn't afraid to use it. Tinordi wins most of his share of board battles, he's not far from the NHL. Pateryn still fumbles the puck a few times per game, but he's getting there too.

- Dietz looks frail physically compared to the other D's. Average game for him. He didn't do much on the PP, and was not used in the last 5 minutes or so. He was alright defensively, and was good on breakouts beside Tinordi.
