Still deserves a life ban.

Thornton is nothing more then a goon. Only reason he is in the NHL is to fight. The slew-foot after the play was premeditated. This was not a "in the moment" hockey play. Thornton knew all along what he was going to do.

I say throw that garbage out of the NHL.

What Thornton did was stupid, classless, and completely uncalled for. Pretty much the complete opposite of how he normally plays the game. Unlike most 4th line winger/enforcer he can actually skate and play the game.

I have no idea why he did it, it's out of character for him, and it's all I'm gonna say on it.
