I think we need 4 lines Pete, not 2.5

I'm happy when they lose.

Thanks man, he should be in the AHL next season, maybe a stint in the ECHL at first. He's already strong enough to play in the Pros.

Strength won't matter if he can't keep up.

I really hope Yzerman doesn't go 'old-boys club' style when picking the team. I think people need to realize that with a bigger ice surface that guys who can skate and move the puck are more important than having a guy like Lucic. A guy like St. Louis needs to be there, his puck smarts and passing ability should be a good fit for the bigger ice surface.
Subban hopefully makes the team, his skating ability is more important than what Boyle can bring in terms of experience. As far as shooting goes for the power play he is the best option from the left side (his off side).

Lucic doesn't have great acceleration, but he's not as slow as you might think, and you still need guys that will go into the corners etc

And he scores ugly goals. My ramble was somewhat incoherent. I don't mean so much that Lucic shouldn't be there, but that the selection requirements shouldn't revolve around the Canadian 'game' but what will win us the gold.

Gotta admit, I don't watch 24ch to see how he deals internally but Therrien must be doing something good.

I have to agree. I personally don't like him but you have to think at one point, his adjustments and lineup decisions can't just be dumb luck. He seems to know what he's doing.

I'm not a fan either but I have to eat crow. It would be nice to see Markov get some time cut back though. Hopefully as Emelin gets better conditioned it will happen

This is the same team we had at the beginning of the season, how weird is that? The Habs were officially sucking badly and Desharnais was the new Gomez. Few weeks later, all is super-good. To me that is good coaching adjustments.

I think he does what all good organizational leaders do: relies on his team members. Habs have a good coaching staff and it seems from 24ch that they all play an important role

Have to agree with you.

Also, I am having a hard time accepting that Emelin is that big of a part of this team. When he was injured last year, the team went on a terrible slide and never recovered. This year, they start pretty poorly and really turn it on when he comes back.

EE called it at the beginning of the season that if the team stays around .500 until Emelin comes back, they will greatly improve upon his return.

I call witch craft.

“He wasn’t far from the boards and I pushed him pretty hard,” said Erne, who also received a game misconduct for the hit. “I thought it was a dive and I thought everybody else did, too. I wouldn’t have even gotten a penalty if he didn’t dive into the boards.”

He also said that Drouin could have absorbed the hit standing up, and avoided injury.

“If he dives and goes head first he’s going to hurt himself,” added Erne, who also knocked Murphy out of the game with a shoulder on shoulder check before stealing the puck and scoring the game’s first goal."

Emelin has been struggling so far. But having him on the 2nd pair puts Diaz on the 3rd pair, and Diaz is having the time of his life against the bottom 6 of the other teams.

The Corsi adepts think Diaz should go back with Gorges, and Emelin with whoever is in the lineup between Murray and Bouillon. Seems like Diaz/Gorges fared better possession wise than Gorges/Emelin.

Hopefully he gets back up to speed, because when he's on the ice, the Habs often get stuck in their zone.

I think Diaz and Emelin should be the 2nd pairing.
