Red ass for Red ass? - faustus1500
AHL player for AHL player. Most likely an addition by subtraction type scenario. |

HEY, Still better than last.
I don't think its fair to compare any team that hasn't won a cup to a team that has and knows what it takes to do it again. I know the hawks aren't playing completely "lights out" hockey every night but I've said it before and I'll say it again. Come spring time, the Hawks bring their A game. When it comes to the grind of the playoffs that requires depth to go far, this team is STACKED!! We have to send guys that could play on a lot of other teams back to Rockford just to meet our roster numbers. I'll worry if we break out the golf clubs before June. - PhilMeister89
We shall see. They have the talent for sure. But if they give up goals at this rate all regular season they will be using those clubs earlier than we'd all like. Regular season GA has been a pretty reliable predictor of deep playoff runs. |

Crawford wasn't great in the Dallas loss but to pin the loss to the Wild on him would be wrong.
Oduya kicked/stepped on a puck and put it in...Then he made an awkward block attempt on the winning goal...Seabrook looked like a ballerina trying to throw a leg out to block the tying goal. If they don't screen/deflect either those are saved.
Q. mentioned Crawford and if he is happy with a team that plays 1/2 a game that's fine but I hardly think that is the case behind close doors.
Simply put last Crawford was as good or better than Harding...They had the better scoring chances.
Both Dallas and the Wild outworked the Hawks and last night the bottom six forwards were badly outplayed....... and Shaw and Bickell out together does matter.
Part-time effort earns Hawks another loss: http://bit.ly/IHBr68: My Fox Chicago: On The Blackhawks

Your argument is fair but I will ask, not that it should matter but I think it contributes. Do you think the hawks aren't their typical shut down selves because of the Olympics coming? A good chunk of their team is going to rep their respective countries. This is also why I think determination will be different after the Olympics are done. |

And on the 3-3 goal, Q got caught with Nordstrom, Bollig and (maybe) Morin on the ice vs Wild's first line.

Why is it no shock that Chicago acquires Mashinter? It's no surprise Beach is traded but I wouldn't have thought Mashinter was a target. |

I know how everybody feels about Beach, but just wondering if anyone thinks a change of scenery will put it together for him? What if he finally gets it after being traded? |

I'm not sure the Hawks "targeted" anyone. My guess is that the Hawks were simply looking for someone interested in Beach, at which point personnel was discussed. |

Possible, but unlikely. Either way nothing was going to happen for him in this organization, much like J Hayes and Olsen. |

That was my thought too. But the poster made it seem Chicago was looking at this guy specifically:

True, just would suck if he ends up being a solid depth piece that can score and agitate with some size somewhere else. Shaw is pretty much our guy for that and hes a badass but hes not exactly built for the role. |

We have Shaw now we well as McNeill and Ross in Rockford who are ahead of Beach (for that type of role). |

Amen, isnt Hartman supposed to fit that same mold as well? Even if hes a year or two away from being with the big club? |

He is a big boy. They (bigger players) usually dont skate very well, i imagine if Mashinter had speed to his game he wouldnt be an AHL guy. Not sure though, i dont know much about the guy |

You are correct, Hartman is another physical forward in the pipeline. |

But Hartman is no heavyweight…he is a tough middleweight with ability to play three position and mix it up when it may be necessary, but he is a whole lot more than situational fighter... |
