Wow.... I was literally thoughtless for about 30 seconds there trying to let that idea sink in. I would think, and I am probably being a major homer here, that if PK was being traded, we are getting a little more than MacKinnon.... Just saying! He's a potential star, but PK is a superstar at 24 and one of, if not the best, all around defenseman in the league.

Now, I really don't think this happens unless PK wants out. And if that's the case then trade him, but I don't think he's going anywhere. The thought of MacKinnon wearing the CH gives me a hockey boner though. Lol

Unless there are multiple pieces moving from each team, I can't see why there would need to be a one-for-one swap. The value is essentially fair, but I don't see the motive. Where would Nathan even play in Montreal's top-6?

what a reckless and irresponsible piece of writing this is. PK played 28 minutes last night. Therrien has been gushing about him in the media for the last 2 weeks, talking about how high his level of play is and how they want him on the Olympic team, and you churn out this garbage that he's not happy.

next time you go to PJ Stock for your insider info, stick to the Leafs or Bruins.

only reason he would want out is if the Habs aren't willing to pay him. that's all this is going to be about. he'll be happy here if he's paid.

as for Ek bringing up the Roy trade, if he dug a bit deeper, he'd find out that Rejean Houle was let go about 14 years ago.

I actually love the deal from both sides.

Subban makes Colorado a long term contender starting right now.

MacKinnon gives Montreal a superstar that will lead the league in scoring one day. A great age fit with their other young players. Most people who react quickly just can't get their heads around the total magnitude of the deal.

would anyone be surprised if this happened? P.K and the staff are never generally on the same page, are they?

it's rare to win the Stanley Cup without a legit stud dman who can control a game for 27 minutes. Carolina and Pittsburgh are the only 2 recent winners i can think of.

however you see teams win the Cup without 100-point forwards all the time.

Actually when I heard Therrien polishing this apple, I wondered if maybe they might be thinking of moving him.

so if Therrien says nothing, means he wants PK out.

I'm not going to outright suggest that PK will get greedy for his big contract, but based on his actions thus far I'd say it's a pretty good assumption. The tax on his salary in Montreal is far worse than Colorado, and despite hot women and delicious poutine, Montreal does not compare to the legal dank nug-nugs in the southern rockies.

I really don't get why either team would rock the boat this hard while doing well, but it's fun to talk about!

this is the big ,not even a rumor, blog you said we'd get last night then had to change until this morning? A hypothetically that wouldn't ever happen unless other parts were in play?
