He's still just a steady reliable guy. He's falling out in Phx because of Michalek and Stone taking up the big minutes. And I think Rundblad might start to get more games to get him going. Plus they got Klesla whos also rumored to be traded. Could also be a guy for you guys to look at. Phx also has Schlemko whos always getting games and they seem to want to get Connar Murphy into more games.

I just hope Murray is allowed to do something soon...

Pleckanic, Desharnais, Galchenyuk, Eller... MacKinnon all down the middle?

Hypothetically then, a centre is going back to Colorado with Subban... and the reported rumour was 2 Avs plays for 4 Habs... was it not?

I figured it was Stastny and McGinn for some pucks (draft pick), prospect in minors, one bottom 4 D, and Descharnais

I hate to break the bubble but Subban is not going any where. The only reason why we see blogs about this is because he hasn't sign his new contract yet.

Im not talking about big hits and what not. Can Karlsson shut down another teams best players? No. He might not make all the mistakes on his outlet pass's or have a ton of turn overs while hes rushing up and down the ice. He only controls the game in the offensive zone. He isnt gonna shut down the big guys on opposing teams.

Quick question. Is he still gonna be recovering from injury the next time someone says they would rather have Subban over him?

- poisondhearts37

Karlsson is just too small. Great offensively but too small in stature. I think he's listed at like 180 lbs. Difficult to be a solid defensive player and stay healthy when the average winger coming at you out weighs you by minimum +25 most nights.

I know DoubleDown would hate it.....for about 5 minutes.

Then he'd go on and on about how MacKinnon is the second coming of Crosby and that Markov isn't slow.

I love how anyone is discussing this trade like it would ever happen. By Ek's own admission, it's pure conjecture. This is a pointless exercise in trolling.

You can't base quality just on size! Lidstrom was 10lbs more then Karlsson is and that didn't prevent him from being a great D!

Karlsson doesn't need to use his size to be able to play D, he uses his speed (although hasn't recovered all of his speed yet with his injury), uses his stick and best of all, he has possesion of the puck very often so when you have the puck, you don't need to defend!

Just an FYI....10lbs more means he was bigger.

he's forgotten because he's 37 and he's not the player he was 3 years ago.

Chara is still in the top 5 best all around defenders in the game. You'd be hard pressed to find a GM in the league who wouldn't take Chara on their 1st pair for a game 7 in the playoffs.

Yes but the way he was talking he was saying that to be a great D, you need to be a hulking D with at least 25lbs more...

I mean, I have no issues with Subban. But, Doughty is also very good. As is Karlsson.

Name 7 Canadian defensemen better than PK. (frank) it, name 5 defensemen in general better than PK right now.
- FinAddict

Weber
Pietrangelo
Keith
Doughty
Seabrook

If I'm going with team chemistry and on the big ice I also take the smooth skating Bouwmeester and pair him with the second best Canadian defensemen in NHL, AP.

Any list that has Suter (AMERICAN!!!) in it should be automatically disqualified because the poster clearly doesn't watch enough hockey...
