Obviously +/- isn't the greatest indicator of defensive play, but if you are a +9 player you're doing something right.

Also, PK averages about 25 minutes a night on a team with a VERY good goal differential, I wonder if there's a correlation? Perhaps even a causation!

I mean, I have no issues with Subban. But, Doughty is also very good. As is Karlsson.

You dont have to play 27 mins a night or 30 mins a night when the rest of the teams dman arent terrible.
- poisondhearts37

Unfortunately for the Sens, after the 1st pairing, our Ds are terrible so Karlsson DOES have to play 30min a night!

Be glad you nvr read or may have read that EDM fans posts about Ceci the other day. And hope he can be a top 4 guy. That guys thinks hes gonna be a 6 or 7 dman at best.

Hard to disagree, I'd even go so far as to call them all great defensemen.

Ceci is definetly our best D prospect and hoping he'll be top 4 in a few years...Sens just have to be patient and not rush him...they are usually good with developping talent so i'm not worried...
The problem is NOW with our D and our cheapAss owner doesn't want to spend to get quality bottom 4 D...

That's actually decent, Murray is playing well for a 19 year old, in the long run this could be to Mtl advantage.

Maybe find a way to move 9mm+ for a dman? Gotta be cash out for cash in. If anyone would bite on him.

Yeah...apparently the rumours are Murray had a couple of deals almost done but too much money coming back and Melnick nixed it...

9mm is on a 4.5M cap hit but 6M salary so a little harder to move... People are trashing him this year but considering he's played with different wingers and spent time on the 3rd line, I find he's done pretty decent with a point every 2 games, is good 2-way and still young...obviously not worth 6M right now though...

Theyre prolly trying to move Peters first. But one of the two will have to go because theyll end up losing one to waivers if they cant move either one. Not so much cant. But asking price could be to high for other teams.

This Karlsson vs. Subban stuff is so dumb. You couldn't go wrong with either player right now. They are amazing defenceman, who have the puck a lot and make a few defensive gaffs, the thing is you only remember the gaffs not the 15 or so other plays where they clear the zone without issue and the puck is up the ice for an offensive rush. Karlsson is a less physical, and maybe a little more talented with his stick, and Subban is a big guy with great speed, is really all I would call different about them.

The only edge I would give Karlsson from a team perspective is his cap hit of 6.5 is going to be excellent value with the cap rising, same with Pietrelengelo and OEL at 5.5.

I'd take any of those 4 players. I am partial to Karlsson because I am a Sens fan of course.

As much as I don't think Subban is a complete defensemen yet, I wouldn't trade him either unless its for a super star. Why would they?

maybe as we seem to like to trade with phx...is he better then the past couple of years before the lockout though? He had slowed down a lot... (haven't seen him the past 2 seasons)
He's getting up there in age too so I hope he would be on a ending contract...

He's still just a steady reliable guy. He's falling out in Phx because of Michalek and Stone taking up the big minutes. And I think Rundblad might start to get more games to get him going. Plus they got Klesla whos also rumored to be traded. Could also be a guy for you guys to look at. Phx also has Schlemko whos always getting games and they seem to want to get Connar Murphy into more games.
