I have been looking forward to Couts vs those guys for a while.

Will the Dallas coach play match up and try to get that line away from Couts?

- Marc D

I really want to watch Nichushkin. He was the guy I had my eyes on all last season.

Bill, I heard a report last year that he plays a lot like Malkin, but has more of a nack to drive the puck to the net. Would that be accurate?

Not that he is as talented of a player as Malkin, but plays like him?

Since Dallas gets the last change, they'll have the opportunity to get away from match-ups they don't like.

Me, I'm starting to think that the 3rd line should be the 1st line for the Flyers.

I totally didn't see that comeback coming last night. In fact, first I tired of the TV broadcast and switched to radio while playing SWTOR, then I just ran out of gas entirely and went to bed when it was still 3-2, knowing that I had to be up at 6 a.m.

I have to hand it to the Flyers, considering the way the game was being called and the way things were going against them, they could have packed it in and quit. They didn't.

No info has been released, I keep asking around but nobody including the team is answering. They did away with the 10 game automatic one

We were... Until you were all Crosby or Malkin... Neal or Letang....

Like Donald Trump being upset that his Lambo and McLaren don't run at the same time....

But one thing I know is both Schenn's don't have sky-high ceilings like we originally thought when the Richards trade went down. So if I can trade them to get Someone that Might have it, and address a need for a sniper type of player... I'll do it.
- youarewrong

Baby Schenn is already a bonafide top-six winger... am I going to also give up Big Schenn just to chase after a kid that may or may not score more goals than Baby Schenn will? Maybe if they were willing to throw in one of their less heralded SAH d prospects to help off-set the loss of Luke (Musil, Gernat), I might think about it... but I think the Flyers would be better served sitting pat and playing this season out before making any big roster decisions.

The curious thing about Nichushkin is that he hasn't been able to put much rubber on net... for a guy that's big, fast and drives the net -- and has been riding shotgun w/ world-class players -- you think he would manage more than a shade above one shot per game.

Malkin managed 3-4 shots per game his rookie year, and OV was pumping in 5-6 per. That's what makes me hesitate to even think of him in the same breath as those guys.

I havent watched him play yet, or pretend to know anything about the way Dallas player compaired to how Pitt and Washington played when they were rookies. And I'm not sure if Nichuskin plays with the players or the minutes those guys had, so I cant judge.

The thing is, the learning curve that Schenn has already gone through, Nichushkin hasn't. He's not the next Malkin or Ovechkin because a draftnik says he was. People were more excited about Schenn than they were about Nichushkin as a prospect, too...but here we are a few years later and Schenn can't possibly get any better.

What happens when Nichuskin isn't putting up Malkin number by age 22? Do you turn around and trade him for a kid who was given the burden of being the next whomever? If Nichushkin was a sure thing to be the next Malkin, he'd have gone a lot higher than he did.

So did Malkin... and Tavares... and Getzlaf... and Crosby... and Parise... and St. Louis... You get the picture. Coots hasn't been able to keep these guys off the score sheet every day but he's proven that he's more than capable of shutting down the league's top talent.

Just curious... if the Leafs were willing to trade Reilly and Holland for both Schenn Bros, would you do it?

my post was more about how benn should start being considered in the same conversation as the guys you just listed than a shot at coots.

i love coots as a player. no hes not the leagues premier 2 way guy, but i definitely think he is a good player. (although i will say that postseason work against malkin is a tad overplayed haha its not as if malkin was a ghost. he averaged over a point per game)

Oh, I guess I missed your point because I already consider Benn in that class, or very close to it if he's not.
