Yea, I have respect for the majority of the people I learned from through my years.
another thing that grinds my gears? requiring years of experience for entry level positions. It's absurd.

It is supply and demand and the problem is happening everywhere.
Good example,
I work in Kitchener/Waterloo in Insurance.
Our company has laid off hundreds of IT workers in the past year. RIM has laid off thousands in the same geographic area.
= a ton of people on the market. Employers can pay less and demand more experience. You also get other effects, like flexible work hours being removed fro our company as of Dec 31. OR re-arranging workstations to a caffeteria-like arrangement with no dividers to fit more people in.
Employers can do all this sh1t for one simple reason, supply and demand of workers.
