The ages is minimal, look at LA in comparison, very very close in age differential. It is not even close to an excuse that can be given. - LeafMan
except for the Kings, most elite teams are on the "older" side |

I'm not following your team much but my opinion is that you need improvement on center and defence.
Bozak is not a first line center. Kadri might be someday. - sEb_666
thanks for the insight |

Really depends of your definition of "older side".
I'd say Chicago still has a very young core of players. |

Not sure I'd consider players in their prime as old. |

Chicago is 4th oldest on this list, Pittsburgh 5th, St-Louis right in the middle |

Who gets fired if the Leafs are below 8th on January 1st?
What is the plan to fix the team? |

Whatever their age - too many underperformers.
Although the injury excuse is legit. Hard to gain consistency when your lineup is changing so often. |

I don't know, waiting for Nonis to return my call. He's kinda busy with a bottle at the moment. |

oh i agree 100%.. but there is enough difference where younger teams will have just that extra bit of jump
also.. a lot of the leafs age is in the bottom 6.. which is something else to consider |

majority of the Leafs are in their prime too. Kadri, Rielly being notable exceptions. Leafs young average age is more a function of their lack of old players rather than a bevy of youngsters. not an old team but i agree with LeafMan that referring to them as being so young is a bit misleading. |

Definitely not - prime as in performance. No real correlation to age really. |

As an Ottawa fan I'm hoping the Leafs finish December 4-5 games under .500... Will give my Sens a shot at bouncing back in...
But seriously, the Leafs really need to address their #1C position.. Have ANY depth in that position is better than what they currently have..
What would the team look like if they had not signed Bozak? Bozak is a decent#2 guy but definitely not a #1. |

the leafs are losing because they are playing poopty hockey.. plain and simple
its not the refs.. its not the injuries.. its not the league holding them down
they just suck right now. end of story |

misleading stat though, habs are 5th but many of those games were Murray and Parros, guys that have little impact. Losing Emelin was a different story.
Game lost to guys in your top 6 on offense, top 4 on D and #1 goalie, different story. |

They have yet to have a complete lineup dressed this year.
With that being said, if everyone gave a better effort and competed harder, they can help themselves plus a change in a system, the D-men have no outlet for passes and clearing with ther wingers no where in sight or out of position in the middle of the ice staring at the puck. Other than that, there is no saviour coming who will help. |
