And yes I was in here last night....

Well if youre Albertan then you come from the hardest working province of Canada handsdown. Not even (frank)ing close. But Albertans are also the stupidest people in Canada so it works both ways.. Im an Ontarian living in Alberta so i use my smarts to get out of working hard. Swabbing is one of the easiest patch jobs that still pays good money.

James Mìrtle @mirtle
Interested to see who Leafs recall with Smithson going. Abbott leads Marlies in scoring and is natural choice. Leivo, Bodie other options
.

James Mìrtle @mirtle
Leafs could also choose to carry eight defencemen and bring up Liles or Brennan for more mobility/offence from back end
.

Release the Abbott....oh my...

I would say the fine people from NFLD are the hardest working people, as a whole, in Canada. The conditions they have to work through at times, is amazing.

No disrespect to the people in Alberta.

Albertans are very ignorant tho.. Ontarians can be lazy, and truth be told swabbing is still harder than most things back home. Lots of guys from Ontario go work the rigs but they are knuckleheads. Since ive been out here one thing ive noticed was that there is absolutely no emphasis on education and the fact that Alberta spends less than any other province per capita on education backs it up. Im not saying theres a huge gap in intelligence between the provinces, but its noticeable.

I know a ton of Newfies.. I wouldnt say they are the hardest working.. Albertans are. They grow up on farms then work in the patch. Its nuts. Most of the Newfies aren't that hard of workers. but i have met some that are. ALbertans are workaholics.

In all fairness, if my kid could leave high school and start making 100k per year, I am not sure I could push them to University.

Stay in school for another 4 years, to go 75k in debt, or go start working for 100k.. yep, when do I start.

But at what cost?....

A Statistics Canada report compiling data from 2012 shows that out of all provinces in the country, workers in Alberta have the longest workweek.

While the modern Canadian standard workweek lies somewhere between 35 and 37.5 hours per week, employees in Alberta put in an average of 39 hours of work each week.

n 2010, Albertans worked 7.5 weeks more than the average worker in the top 15 developed countries.

“Working this hard comes at a cost,” says Diana Gibson, Parkland’s research director. “It means less time for family and community, higher levels of stress and poorer health.”

It is not coincidental then that Albertans rank among the lowest in the nation for sense of belonging to their communities.

lol!!!!

i do floss once in a while, but not every day, thats for sure.

mine bleed too, its inevitable if u ask me!

- big_dion

Floss every night.

Sometimes there is a tiny bit of bleeding, but not much. I got told last time I have near perfect hygeine.

It is important for more than just your teeth. There is some evidence that flossing improves overall health, at least in terms of how often you get sick.

I guess if making money is your MO in life. Getting an education is never a bad idea. If you start at the bottom in the patch and work your way up until retirement you could easily be a millionaire by the end. But the lifestyle is depressing IMO... Most of the patch workers i know have gold-digger wives and they are always complaining about money. A lot of guys cheat on their wives when they are on the road and avoid going home because they dont like their families.. I have a buddy who loves his wife and kids out here, but he's pretty rare. I think people should educate their children on how to be happy, not how to make money.

I did 5 years of Uni and came out with only 8k in debt...I also worked my butt off, shouldnt be "acceptable" to allow all that debt just "because" youre in school. To each their own, but I have too many friends still living at home cause theyre in so much debt while I own two properties. Just saying.
