I really think Jake needs to start just shooting more! He can't rush past every D....
- Flyers_V88

The top line definitely needs to do something different, because what they've been doing so far this season isn't working so well. And shooting more - and actually getting the shot on net as opposed to missing or hitting a defender - would be a great start.

Secondary scoring has been happening. Vinny, b schenn, read potting goals this year. The top line had been awful ALL year
- Just5

When I think secondary scoring I think bottom 6 forwards.

They didn't really hand Raffl a spot. They called him up out of necessity.
- PhillySportsGuy

They kind of did, though... he had a total of two NA games under his belt before being promoted... crazy for a guy just fresh from facing nothing more than 2nd-tier EU competition.

I feel like Giroux has lost his hands. It seems like he can't handle any kind of pressure anymore. He used to just skate right through the neutral zone and enter so easily. I think so much of this is confidence.

I didn't think it was wrong to call him up. I thought it was wrong to sit him as the 13th forward instead of someone like Newberry.

Bill: You have Rosehill both in the lineup and as a potential scratch.

I suspect the listing under "potential scratch" is a Freudian slip.

- johndewar

Yes.... and I omitted Lecavalier from the scratch list; also wishful thinking.

I just checked the team stats:

Rosehill: 1 goal, 1 pt., -4
Raffl: 1 assist, 1 pt. -4

Both are in the line up. You do the math...lol.

Thankfully Rinaldo doesn't have the same stat line.

He's a stellar 1 assist, 1 pt. -6

It just shows the sad state of the farm system, more than anything.

Call up a guy to fill in for Vinny Freakin' Lecavalier and the best you can do is a literal FOB?

How long before Berube starts changing the lines around?
I could see Voracek playing on Schenn's wing tonight.

Why not, they are getting very little from G with Voracek at the moment.

I hope he doesn't mess with Couts line though.

Sure they did. He had to beat out akeson, or gervais being used as a forward

That's the competition

The stud prospects in the pipeline are all on the blueline. You got Oliver Ekman-Lauridsen, and Torey Krug clone Shayne Gostisbehere.

Why not put McGinn in a top six spot with Vinnie out, and Raffl with Hall on the 4th line?

Hartsy/G/McGinn
Simmonds/Schenn/Voracek
Downie/Couts/Read
Raffl/Hall/Rinaldo

Might have been nice to have a Michael Chaput to call up... oh wait, they traded him for a big bag of Tostitos.

Tricky thing to get back once you've lost it, and his linemates aren't helping. We need two lines to produce game in/game out and we've barely got one on most games.

His brother Jamie's on the trade block... maybe Sakic/Roy want to do another 4th-line forward for top-9 forward trade? Rinaldo, Rosehill or Hall for the Elder McGinn?

I say we go to Gags, and tell him that we are sorry for the way he was treated. Then, we sign him for a 1 year contract to help G out. Drop Hartz from the 1st line, and put Raffl in the box up stairs.
Let Mr. Snider himself pull up in the limo to apologize. Don't forget the checkbook Mr. Snider or don't come back...lol.

Why didn't they call up McGinn to play on the second or first line and keep Raffl on the 4th line where he belongs? Vinny might miss the rest of this road trip.

I get excited every time Rosehill fights.

Because it means he'll be off the ice for at least the next five minutes.

All jokes aside, he really is a much better hockey player (and fighter) than Jody Shelley ever was here. I think that's more of an indictment of Shelley than praise for Rosehill, though.

BTW, this game's going to be on 24/7... can't wait for Rosehill, Downie, Rinaldo or Hartnell to do something stupid so they can cast the entire team in that familiar light.
