lol, come on now. I think Raffl has way more upside than Nodl. If anything, I'm excited for Raffl.
- Flyers_V88

Difference is, Nodl was like 20 or 21 when he cracked the Flyers lineup for the first time. Raffl is 25... probably not realistic to even think of him as a prospect.

how many of those guys have we had? jeeez...
- hammarby31

Andreas Nodl, Mika Pyerala, Dennis Telpeko, Jiri Depita I would add to the list. All picked up from Europe, handed an opportunity with the club, all of their games never translated.

Does anyone find it amusing that of the 7 goals scored in the last game between these teams only Kronwall will play tonight?

I think Cleary will bank in the GWG off Raffl's face. Lead pipe with all the trimmings.

None of them were ever out of place. Their offensive games just never developed into NHL caliber.

I think Raffl is going to score tonight…On their goal, not ours. I felt I needed to clarify

I'll say it again. I think it might be a symptom of this teams issues that Sydney Crosby has as many points as the Flyers top line COMBINED.

Yeah but I'm within the highest belief that you do not hand a player an NHL roster spot unless they already have NHL experience, have an outstanding camp or a high end prospect.

What if you add the massive 4 points that the 4th line has chipped in to the first line totals? Does that surpass Crosby?

I don't mind Raffl all that much. If the scorers were doing their part, Raffl would be viewed as a solid two-way forward. We would probably just laugh off his inability to hit the net with shots.
- PhillySportsGuy

As it stands, quite a few players are having a hard time hitting the net. More important still, getting the puck past the goalie seems to be a problem as well.

They didn't really hand Raffl a spot. They called him up out of necessity.

Yup. With the Flyers top players struggling mightily offensively, would be nice to get some production from some secondary guys. Needless to say it's not happening.
- PLindbergh31

Secondary scoring has been happening. Vinny, b schenn, read potting goals this year. The top line had been awful ALL year

Meh. G, Jake, Read, etc. all miss high and wide just like Raffl. Or they manage to shoot it into a defender's stick or body. Hence the Flyers being one of the lowest scoring teams in the league.
- wolfhounds

I really think Jake needs to start just shooting more! He can't rush past every D....

No, that's crazy. Just stop. We need to focus on Raffl and his inability to carry the team.

Not as a prospect in the traditional sense, but moreso a project. I think he has the ability to play in the NHL, he just needs to be more assertive out there and shoot more.

I would just like to see them try more jam plays. Just get the puck on net and crash. Jake and G are both guilty of overpassing.
