Again, like I said with the cap going up and some expendable large contracts coming off the books, I highly doubt they are going to make a trade just to dump salary. If anything it would be to make more room for a guy like Bournival to play more.
Tindori & Beaulieu could still use the rest of this year to grow. Just replacing Murray and Boullin next year with them will free up just over 1.2 million in cap.
Just saying...there are teams who NEED to dump cap...and then there are the Habs, who could stand to loose some cap...but don't NEED to

The only contracts larger than 2mil coming off of the books are Gionta at 5mil, Markov and Subban.
Subban will ask for around a 5 mil raise so we can call that a wash and lets say Markov resigns for 3 mil assuming HABS want him back which is what I have been hearing, so that with all of your expiring players give you 10 million to resign 3 dmen and 5 forwards.
Then add in the 6 mil the cap is projected to jump up next year you have 16million for 5 players.
Assuming Eller wants a raise to 3-4mil you have around 12.5 mil to sign 7 players.
So averaging about 1.8 million per player to replace 7 players on an already average to above average (with all due respect but the point is MTL is not currently a cup contender) team that is being carried by Price doesn't need cap room.
I would disagree and say MTL does need to find some way to dump some extra salary if they plan to be competitive.
