LOL usually we are on the same side... I respect your honesty... I have to admit I really liked Franson his whole career since jr. but man i am not impressed this year...

Start with the right coach for this make up. He does realize you can be offensive and still defensively reliable.

i bet nonis is too wussy to fire carlyle.

I also think Fraser might be done... he looks really slow (probably because of his injury)
- jribout

Oh yeah remember when he came back that other guy would be permanently in the press box. Good times good times.

Only way Carlyle goes is if Nonis gets the boot first...

Yeah he should be a lot better than he is. In theory our idea was right if he had continued his progression, which he has not. It like the negotiations left him pissed off and he wants to leave.

Hence why I said "energy".

It's pointless to put a guy like Parros on the ice when you just tied the game or took a 1 goal lead. It's a recipe for disaster.

- Pecafan Fan

Try putting 3 Parros's on at the same time

Pretty sure Carlyle's got a winning record since joining the Leafs.
Hard to justify why he should be the guy paying for the leafs slump.

didn't buy the Franson/Fraser love last season... they're a good 3rd pairing, when sheltered... but that's about it. They should be put back down in that role... except that Fraser is hurting now... and looks even worse than he did last season.

Phaneuf-Gunnar
Gardiner-Ranger
Franson-Fraser

Rielly goes back down- he's looked impressive offensively, no doubt... but the guy's defensive game just isn't close to NHL ready. And he's supposed to be a defensive d-man. I trust Gardiner on the ice 11 times/10 over him right now.

I'd also call up MacWilliam to take over Fraser's role.

the slump has been since game 1 though.

even when we were winning, we were playing horribly.

it was all goaltending masking our terrible play.

Because I believe his coaching style is a big part of the problem as well. Plus I never really liked the hiring so this is perfect for me.

Dion's agents must be salivating... Unless were going to blow it up he gets what he wants... because we have no other choices.... That being said we need to be patient our window still has 4-5 years in it and we should be much better then with the development of reilly and gards... and/or a couple of the minor leaguers like Grandberg/Finn/Percy

People complain that Fraser, Ranger are trash.

Gardiner is inconsistent and brutal in his own zone

Our bottom 6 is full of players who suck because we lack depth (Nonis)

Bozak sucks

Kadri and Clarkson are disappearing...

Want to fire the coach..

makes sense.

No.

It was strong physical play, top notch defensive play, and good offense that won the Leafs games, as well as their goaltending. Goaltenders look a lot better when there aren't many good chances against them.

Leafs were winning because they were out-chancing teams every night, and converting on those chances at a good rate.

His player selection is baffling, Smithson Orr FML have a combined 0 pts in 37 games!!! How do you keep running this as a line..

Oh look! he puts them on after tie it up 2-2, get stuck in our zone for over a minute and a half and boom, game winner.

Its so frustrating.

- peddy-93

Yes and Rielly couldn't (frank)ing flip it past the blue line

Pathetic

Carlyle is terrible at player managing. 5:24 minutes for Holland after 2 periods. Bozak played 1.5 periods and still played more than Holland, and Holland had a very good game.

Difference is we know Rielly is good with star potential, we know the 4th line is terrible. Mistakes are common for a 19 year old. The 4th line doesn't make mistakes, they're just bad.
