Better effort than I've seen lately...a lot of injuries vs. a more complete team. I'm happy to see their fight back in the 2nd.
If they can play .500 hockey for this month we'll be fine in January when we get healthy. - Pen15
how (frank)ing sad is that
I honestly don't think they can play .500 for this month. It would have been tough if they were playing well and getting great goaltending still. Playing like this, they could easily lost 10 or 11 games.

Well my good sir, when you have (frank)ING NO ONE ON THE SAN JOSE SHARKS WHO WILL FIGHT WHO GIVE SA (frank) - Mapleleafs_91
That Desjardins guy seemed pretty willing.
At some point, you've either got to toughen up or change your identity entirely. Look what Emery did for Philly.
I know he got dumped on for it, but he changed the tone of that team entirely with one fight. |

they fought back for half a period, that's just not acceptable regardless of who is injured.
far too many passengers. |

Come on are you kidding me? That guys a wussy to go after smithson anyways. You think mike brown is going to fight one of his former teams? Even if he did we have clarkson or phaneuf to handle that |

Too early - Leafland But really? Does this team seem competitive in anyway? They had rainbows pouring out of their asses in the offensive zone that were only overshadowed by the rainbows pouring out of their asses in net. Rainbows don't last forever. Rainbows guys....

Well my good sir, when you have (frank)ING NO ONE ON THE SAN JOSE SHARKS WHO WILL FIGHT WHO GIVE SA (frank), when you are facing teams that wont even bother fighting, dont dress them - Mapleleafs_91
eve against teams that have fighters, they aren't fighting, and I have a hard time believing it's of their own choosing...
no idea why either, cause it was working. I'm starting to think there might be outside influences on Carlyle that don't want them fighting as much... whether that's Leweike or what... I don't know.
but it's weird how he was all about fighting last year, and this year they hardly fight at all.

Okay but not every team fights, we already know which teams do and would be more appropriate to have guys like ORR and Mclaren in the lineup not every game |

Yeah this thing is about to get a whole lot worse in a hurry. Stars, Sens, Bruins, Kings, Blues, Blackhawks, Pens..... I would give it another few weeks and we can close the book on this one |

I'm not happy about the effort, but we were instantly back down to zero top 3 centers in the span of one game.
I like this team when it's healthy. It should be, by all means, a very competitive group. I'm just not sure if these guys can actually stay healthy.
I don't know if they're not eating their Wheaties or something, but we need to find some answers here. Time to fire the training staff. |

Trust when we face the teams with the fighters, have the fighters play. When we dont, dont have them. Plain and simple |

bolland, lupul, kadri, bozak. That's 4 of your top 6 not playing. We basically iced an AHL team tonight. |

That is only like what 4 out of upcoming 11 game losing streak?
so we draft what, like 12th overall? Maybe we can get a solid 4th liner ready to play in 4 years.

Seems Carlyle has ripped the confidence outta everything that was good on this team and the one position where there shouldn't be confusion is now upside down |

I never trusted this guy from the start. Another executive with his hand in hockey operations.
The guy cans Burke for being a blowhard, then turns around and says he's planning the Maple Leafs parade route. Big talker with flawed ideas.
We've been down this road with Ballard, Peddie, Tannenbaum... I know where it leads. |

the leafs were completely outmatched, absolutely, fair enough.
but at least lets see a hit or two, maybe a half decent tussle, run a goalie, bully a couple superstars, crackerjack couture in the open ice, make a couple simple plays to the net and crash it......christ man, anything to show you have some life left in you....some of these fringe guys should be battling for their lives out there.
I just don't see enough heart. |

Seguin in Toronto Thursday. He should be good for 4 goals that night.
Ottawa on HNIC Saturday. Total toss up.
Immediately after, we face the Bruins Sunday. (frank). |

What did you guys think of gardiners performance tonight? Good, okay, bad? I thought he played "okay" but could of done better offensively. Rielly on the other hand was a workhorse, (frank) he looks like phaneuf when he brings the puck up, like they gallop |

I agree about the 4th liners...they were useless.
The rest had a pretty good compete level imo. Bozak getting injured didn't help...that forced Holland out of the 2nd line (which was doing well until that point) and caused a glaring hole. |

Sweet relief!
...and now we'll find out Bozak is done for the year and Phaneuf was playing with a broken leg. |
