Of the players not named Phaneuf or Gunnarsson, there is nobody on this team I trust with regular second pairing minutes. Not one.

I'm not saying Liles is the savior, but he's a competent veteran defenseman who can get the offense going with a breakout. Looks like a pretty clear cut upgrade to me. We're paying him, after all.

The first period was terrible, but good game overall. The leafs played really good without the likes of kadri, lupul, bolland and bozak who left. Just the usual players that i wanted kicked out has to be kicked out and i think were heading back up to some wins

Exactly, alot of positives can come from this game. This is the first game that i actually think they tried in pretty hard. Besides a couple of goofs who should be benched, would of been a better game

Better effort than I've seen lately...a lot of injuries vs. a more complete team. I'm happy to see their fight back in the 2nd.

If they can play .500 hockey for this month we'll be fine in January when we get healthy.

No, they really don't.

That would be the most common sense move you could make to help the team right now.

There is no upgrade you could possibly make that would have a bigger impact. Swapping out a #7D for a #4D is a no-brainer.
