How can you compare their numbers? Jenner was in the OHL and Biggs was in the USNDP at the time of the draft. While I agree that Jenner appears to be the better pick now, I don't think you can say it was ridiculous to choose one ahead of the other. Jenner wasn't taken for another 13 picks or something, so it wasn't only Burke who chose someone ahead of him. - BetterCallSaul
OHL is considerably stronger competition than USNDP, and Jenner was a PPG Center as a 17 yr old. Biggs wasn't even a first line player at the time. Plus Jenner is a Center... something Leafs have needed for about a decade. But ya, why draft that.

i agree with you 100%. this isnt even a hindsight thing because jenner was the better player at the time of the draft. its not even worth arguing about. |

I was thinking he has obvious limited creativity. |

Because the leafs are stacked with capable 2-4th line centers. |

Me too, he throws it away instead of generating his own creativity. |

and my point was more that Biggs was taken way too early. He was and off the board pick at the time and Burke traded up cause he got wind the Wings were going to take him.

Well add to the record that when the team started playing worse reimer had worse numbers. Let's also not forget that neither one of them have played enough games to rely on numbers. It's time to go with observation and start the better of the two for at least 6-8 games. Without doing that they both could be ruined. - iTOLDu
The only truly great goaltending performance in the past 3 weeks has come from Reimer.
Bernier's been getting better goal support and Reimer has still managed to eke out some points.
The bar hasn't been set particularly high by any guy, but the fact that Reimer managed to steal just one game gives him the edge. I realize that's not exactly comforting, but there you go. |
