Absolutely. Without Burkie holding the whip team is soft as poop. Like our pudgy GM.
Last years team was built in Burke's image and they played like it.

um... Nonis was the one that went with a tough team last year. Got rid of a few softies Burke brought in.

Way more composed than reimer. Reimer flops, and occasionally his flops might stop a lot of shots because he's a long goalie. The soft goals on Bernier will come to an end if they let him play more than a game or two in a row. Just my opinion.

Bernier's mythical composure is sure helping this team, isn't it? "Calming influence" and all that.

And who is to stay that Reimer couldn't benefit from some consistent starts? He's been jerked around worse than Bernier this year.

The point is that we're looking for miracles from goaltending to bail us out and neither one is exactly showing he's capable of picking up the team and carrying it. It's probably not a fair expectation to put on any goalie, let alone two young ones.

not too late yet and haven't "officially told hockey Canada NO" but Carlyle said in media that he's not going (I think was Carlyle)

That sucks.. Could have had MacKinnon and Monahan too.

At least the States aren't likely to get Jones or Galchenyuk either

Boone Jenner had way better numbers at every level than Biggs at the time of draft.

was ridiculous to take Biggs ahead of him. And that was my opinion at the time and I wasn't by any stretch alone on the subject.

- Badge

How can you compare their numbers? Jenner was in the OHL and Biggs was in the USNDP at the time of the draft. While I agree that Jenner appears to be the better pick now, I don't think you can say it was ridiculous to choose one ahead of the other. Jenner wasn't taken for another 13 picks or something, so it wasn't only Burke who chose someone ahead of him.

Not capable? Did you miss the first 10 games of the season or something? Sure they both did it, but Bernier just has better composure, better positioning, more athletic, million times better glove and can play the puck. Anyone who doesn't see this is most likely blind.

I switched to the Sens game to watch them lose.

That's how bad it's been.

October was an eternity ago. Doesn't matter much to today's problems.

For the record, when the team was playing better, Reimer had better numbers than Bernier, anyway.

He's been pretty good this year, everyone has an off night.

With this team it's never AN off night, though.

Well add to the record that when the team started playing worse reimer had worse numbers. Let's also not forget that neither one of them have played enough games to rely on numbers. It's time to go with observation and start the better of the two for at least 6-8 games. Without doing that they both could be ruined.
