Ok. Would you do a 1st and gardiner?

I'd prefer to keep gunnar...he's our 2nd best dman.

- Pen15

I think gunnar is a bottom pairing defenseman, and if you consider him our 2nd best then this team is in deep deep poop

you dont think a dan girardi would help fill a lot of holes on the back end?
- Pen15

yes, I do. I meant instead of Kulikov. Girardi would be awesome.

Legit its true, if you have a guy like gunner on another team that would be #5 or marked very low in the rankings of defenders, then your team has some big issues on defense

He's proven he can eat minutes and play against other teams best forwards....his TOI and +/- are proof of that.

Sure, on chi he'd be a 3/4...but on the majority of NHL teams he's a solid #2/3.

Hes not a 3, id take Hjarmalsson over him any day. At best #4

Fine....he's a #4 (even though Hjarmalsson is arguable) on the cup champs....

I think it's safe to assume he's a #2/3 on most other NHL clubs.

Carl Gunnarsson is not a #2/3 defenseman on most teams, and shouldn't be. He's an ideal 4th D who can play the minutes you give him, but his defensive side isn't strong enough to warrant how bad he is in the other zones.

Dion's carrying him...Dion's carrying everyone on the backend this season.
I expected Gunnar to be more this season being healthy, but I'm starting to doubt he is. Or, he's become complacent with his nice new contract. D- for Gunnar.

Ok...where does he fit on Boston....and on the pens?

Again....easily a 3/4 on both teams.

You can't actually believe dion is single handedly shutting down other teams best line.

He is a guy that eats minutes. That is good and all but he doesn't contribute offensively much, his defense has been shaky, been blocking alot of shots which is good, and is easy to knock off the puck if your a bigger forward nor is an aggressive threat.
