And I'd play Liles over this year's version of Mark Fraser, I don't care if he's our only physical/stay at home d, he's playing like ass this season and he's not shutting anyone down. The stat line on kulikov is junk. Let's face it, the fact he plays 20+ minutes means nothing as well...he's filler on a poop team.

The decision with him has to be managed with risk. If the price is a 3rd rounder, sure, take a flyer on him....because the risk/reward works in our favour. If the price on the other hand is one of our top 6....or one of our high end prospects....then no thanks.

I am by no means endorsing a trade for kulikov. There could be many reasons they want to part with the guy, even reasons that have nothing to do with his skill. See Dion Phaneuf being shipped out of Calgary or Seguin being moved.

Disagree. Gardiner is expendable because we have a guy like Rielly, as well as guys like Finn, Percy, etc. waiting in the wings.

I think it's higher too...but I wouldn't pay more than that if I were Nonis. We have enough young puck moving dmen. We need a guy that can play 20min a night and help out dion in stabilizing the blueline. I don't think kulikov fits that mold.
