Facts schmats. Sulzer is hurt can't send him down and I guess they didn't want to expose McBain to waivers. It's a numbers game, plus I doubt anything drastic happens with the roster until a GM is hired
- Stripes77

If Sulzer is hurt, throw him on IR and play McNabb, THEN decide to send him down later.

Not a fan of this call.

The search is going too slow, IMO. Im glad they are turing every stone, but they need to run to each stone, not walk. Its been 3 weeks since the firings. we have heard of 3 candidates being interviewd?

Botteril
Benning
Murray

Am I missing anyone.

Source? He coached in juniors. As a coach you are always teaching.
- Stripes77

Nolan at this level has a style that isn't fitted for youth. It's a this is your 9-5 job and do it every shift or be fired sort of style. Sometimes maybe that intimidates young guys?

It has been widely stated that he does not like having young kids on the roster and he would prefer vets.

IMO that's why he will only be here this year. I think LaFontaine wanted him to weed out the vets that didn't want to be here or wouldn't work hard. Nolan is a good guy to start the culture change but I bet the new GM will want his own coach

Doesn't mean he isn't teaching, but I know what you guys mean. Its hard to develop guys you don't really know. Him coming in during the season isn't an easy task especially since he is really interviewing for his job.

Can only fault him so much for doing that and that's not a defending the legends thing.

Maybe they have a guy in mind and cant hire him until after the season? Maybe a guy like Messier? Let him finish the year out and go from there? I have no idea. I don't want them to force the issue and hire the wrong guy either its a big catch 22

Claude Loiselle

It feels like Darcy's spirit is still haunting this franchise,

IMO, that would be a mistake. You bring a guy in and his first 2 assignments are to sign or not sign miller and Moulson.

Yes and no. Those two guys are important but I think the real importance to the rebuild is the draft. I would think Patty has an idea of what to do with those guys and if they aren't open to resigning here you move them anyway

What the (frank) is going on

"McNabb will play tonight for Rochester, then be recalled. Seems like Alexander Sulzer will be placed on IR to clear room for Cody McCormick, instead."

K, I like that better then.

Rochester plays tonight and the Sabres tomorrow. Nice additional "test" to see some endurance too

They're still looking for the GM who will make Ted Nolan "his guy".

Why not no harm no foul as long as he doesn't get hurt. He plays big minutes in Rochester and plays his 15 minutes tomorrow. The benefits of having your farm team an hour drive away

Good luck if that's the case. He doesn't have the best track records but he has had to deal with Darcy and Snow. Not exactly the best at what they do either

By the less informed and irrational fanbase yes. Unfortunately they have the loudest voice. People will associate the new GM with letting Miller walk.

Which is absolutely absurd since they gave him an interim tag. Why not just come out and say we've signed Nolan to a Lindy Ruff style contract....see you all in 2025

All kidding aside I hope you're wrong and they bring in the best available guy. I would think something like that would have been leaked by one of the TSN guys if it were true.
