It's hard to judge if that's really going to be an issue. The problem is with the increased awareness to head injuries, we don't really know how serious things really are because there's a mandate to err on the side of caution. Ultimately, that's a good thing, but consider even five or ten years ago, he might not have even missed a game under the same circumstance.

For some reason I thought he was in his mid twenties. This is a terrible deal for a guy like you said has injury troubles and is 30 years old. He'll be good for maybe half of it. The money they've given to McCan and Ellsbury might have been better invested on re-signing Cano and someone else. I thought they were trying to avoid this very thing anyways?

Ellsbury is a good player but he's always hurt, always. They need pitching should have gotten pitching and signed Beltran but what do I know.
