I actually don't think it was as world-endingly bad as some people think. They played a good defensive team with a Vezina caliber goalie and just got beat on a few dirty goals. Not great but not as awful as 90% of you are making it.
- jmatchett383

It's not, but it shows the desperate need for a defenseman that can skate and move the puck in transition, and not be totally reliant on the forwards to skate the puck up ice.

True silver lining: Giroux back checking down low constantly all game. This will be ignored and forgotten next time he is 2% responsible for a goal against while not backchecking like crazy

I don't disagree with that ... but people here are also looking for something to be excited about.

The Flyers are one of the worst offensive teams in the NHL, that's not a one game thing, that's the season so far.

It's not dire, and it's not great...the Flyers are a solidly average team.

Streits here for at least 2 more years. And if Voracek sucks so bad, why would anyone trade a "true sniper" for him?
- jmatchett383

Because he is young and still has a pretty good value. G needs a shoot first player to play with because he is clearly a playmaker, not a shooter. Hartnell is lost a step and I think Downie could eventually replace him on the first line, in my opinion.

The defense definitely needs an upgrade. But I don't see that happening any time soon.

The Wild play very good team D. The flyers are already inept offensively. The gave up 22 shots I think so it's not like Minny was swarming all over.

GMs aren't blind. Its another sell low scenario. Then he'll go score 30 goals. But I guess that would be good so more people on here would have more to complain about

Hartnell is a different issue. We were talking about trading a young 20 goal scorer and good young picks for some sniper that a team would want to trade us even though voraceks value is at an all time low.

Big game against the Winged Wheel coming up. The Flyers need to step it up for Wednesday.

Its about more than just the end result. This team barely hangs on and has leaned on the goaltending all year. How often is it where we can say yeah we truly deserved to win that game, especially against the better teams in the league?

I'll say it again. If the goaltending holds up it's a bubble team 7-10 seed. If not your looking at a bottom 6-7 team in the league.

Flyers might be one of the easiest teams to defend in the league

Yep....average team with the top payroll, with a bunch of players locked into long term deals that arent going to improve.

Time to tank. No team has ever hovered around .500 this late in a season and ever been good. Can you imagine if the LA Kings were this bad to start 2011/12? They'd be lucky to even have made it as an 8 seed. Just tank.

Well despite the loss tonight, I just bought tix for the 12/21 game in columbus. Three hour drive for me from lexington and I am bringing my 4 year old along for his first game. We got some decent seats in section 121 behind the net where the good guys shoot twice Stoked. First live game since 2009.
