Valid point however I would have liked to have at least seen Giroux try to beat him. His contract and elite player status dictates that he should at least be able to try and beat a defenseman in a one-on-one situation. He raised up the white flag and tried to Joe Thorton it. The whole league knows what Giroux is going to do before Giroux does.

Also Giroux used to be one of the shiftiest, tricky and most effective danglers in the league. Seems like a lifetime ago.

At least they are more responsible in their own end, and get quality goaltending. Those are good things.

Offensively they struggle mightily sustaining any pressure.

Most diehard NHL fans want a contraction of the league not an expansion. Vegas, Seattle or anywhere in the south is not the answer IMO.

I'm kind of in the dark about Luukko. What were his day to day responsibilities with the Flyers? Did he have a lot of input on personnel decisions?

Maybe but it seems premature. I'd expect lots of rumors flying fiercely before we get an expansion team. I'd be surprised if there is one by next season...
