Oh no doubt. But aside from losing or what team played you look at that game and think do they know what they are doing. The last couple year I ve notice officiating has been bad league wide.

It has been going on for quite awhile. I think it has much to do with the extra referee. In the old days, you had one guy in control of the game and he called it pretty evenly. Nowadays, even though they have better coverage the calls are all over the map.

Yeah, I was thinking about that earlier today while I read Kerry Fraser's column. I found it interesting that since he is no longer employed by the NHL, he is totally willing to through all the new referees under the bus for calls that were made, especially if they were made against the Leafs.

Excellent point.

I recall the Leafs getting a few breaks when the Oil played them earlier this year that lead to them winning in overtime; you win some, you lose some.

That's kind of my view of it.

But there are always a few calls that your like wtf. H sedin getting the canucks goal called off and a goalie interferance call last week for standing near the goalie. Never making contract or really even being close. That one ticked me off

I believe the ref actually asked bergeron why he stuck them in there. I'm not defending burrows but either suspend them both or do nothing

Just to clarify, by evenly I don't mean 5 PP's apiece. I just mean what's a hook on one play is a hook on another. If one team is clearly outplaying another they usually get more opportunities.

It's too bad right now because I think they've got legs and a pretty good presence of compete, I mean Ebs for instance is IN this game, but overall they're just so sloppy. It's brutal.
