Bigras, Severson, Pelech? Even Ekblad. He's younger and not having as good of a year. I thought they always said this is a 19 yr old tournament and it was nearly impossible for 17 yr olds to make the team.

Severson and Pelech at least kinda make sense as they're older, bring experience, and play strong shutdown games. Morrisey is OK as he brings stronger offense, but Bigras? He LITERALLY has nothing over Nurse. I think the selection committee was paying too much attention to Bigras' preseason.

Just would like to know how Severson is a horrible pick ? Almost made the Devils out of camp and is having a great year. No he didn't get taken first round but the kid is still a solid all around D

Is he physical like Bieksa ? I know he is just an exceptionally smart player who we somehow stole in the fourth round a year or two ago had 54 points last season.

I'd say so, but some scouts insist that his physical game wasn't up to snuff last season. Maybe it's because I only caught like 10 Rockets games, but he impressed me in every facet whenever I saw him, including his physical play!

I am just glad they didn't take Subban guy cost us the gold last year.

Nope. Klefbom looked bad at camp, but he was also fresh off a year on the shelf. Nurse looked great.

Who said that? He was one of our best Dman through camp. Only returned him for hope of a Pietrangelo-esque growth.

The good news is that apparently Klefbom is looking better all the time in the A.

No he's not. Nurse has 8 goals and 20 assists in 26 games. Plus 5

Ekblad has 9 and 14 in 26 games. Also is minus 4

His physical game has been stellar, has taken big strides as a shutdown defender (despite his -8 rating), and has apparently been incredibly "coachable". He's getting playing time in all facets of the game, too!

PLus minus could have something to do with the teams they play on is Nurse team higher in the standings? Severson is +10 was +43 last year with 50 something points and hasn't been a minus player since 09 when he only played 5 games in the WHL

And some people around here were ready to give up on him. I'm glad to see that the offense is coming to him now what he's got a role. He may still have a future as a 3C!

Also kinda nice to get a first hand idea of how long it takes some European players fully transition to the NA pro game. We may be waiting a while for Klefbom, as well.

Yea seems to be a lot of complaints going around. No Domi, Poirier, Brown, Nurse obviously, I don't know what I think of Fucale everyone seems to think he is the next great goalie but I don't think he has ever looked fantastic to me. Leafs didn't Make Reilly available, Monahan injured. I am just hoping we finally win gold again and maybe it needs to be a team with a few of the better guys left off to finally win it as we basically sent the best we possibly could last year and that was just horrible.

I've been on board and understood many of the moves this year even the oddball assign Arcobello/recall Klefbom one but the continuing Grebsehkov debacle confuses me.
