Garbutt was on a partial break, slipped an edge a little, didn't really pull up and his shoulder popped Bryz in the chin/ head.

The way Bryz was positioned it looks like it jarred or strained his neck.

Sucks. He was playing really composed. He had the family in from Philly and whatnot, which is part of the reason Eakins played him after his mediocre second start. Good call actually.

I think Eakins would have given him the start regardless. I think Bryz, providing he remains relaxed, should be able to perform really well in Edmonton. No "spotlight" on him like he had in Philly.

I (along with a number of others) have been saying it since last season. A team can't continue to get so wildly out-shot (10+ per game) and out-chanced and expect to win in the long term. It was bound to catch up to them eventually. Their goalies were playing unsustainably well, a few of their scorers were shooting well above their averages, and Carlyle seems entirely reluctant to adjust his system.

I don't watch much junior so my arguments dont have much support, but Nurse has to better than at least three of the defenders who got invited.

Bigras, Severson, Pelech? Even Ekblad. He's younger and not having as good of a year. I thought they always said this is a 19 yr old tournament and it was nearly impossible for 17 yr olds to make the team.
