I'll add it was 'one' game...and i'm not worried yet - philco28
Not to dismiss the Lanche but they had almost the identical game against the Hawks last year to break the streak and look how last season worked out just saying .......
Did anyone just see that catch Jeffrey just made

General question for anyone...
Does anybody else find this near obsession with who makes what Olympic squad absurd?
I suppose it depends on ones interest in the "big ice" tournament in February. I personally hope as few Hawks as possible go to Sochi, and fear injuries more than anything else.
It's just a tournament on the other side of the globe that's shutting down the NHL for a month.
Send the amateurs next time and leave the NHL alone. |

Colorado game was an aberration. Avs got a couple early goals and Hawks OUTPLAYED them most of the game. I'm not worried about the Avs. - philco28
Yes it wasn't as bad as the score.
Will be interesting to see rest of games vs. Blues this year.
They'll give the Hawks some trouble for sure if/when they meet in playoffs. |

Chicago's playoff experience, savvy and pedigree should stand us in good stead vs the Blues or anyone else. |

I'm on the other side of the ledger. I remember loving the 2002 Olympics at age 9, really helped my love of hockey. And 2010 was amazing as well. I love the Olympics and hope if they do cancel it that they start a World Cup of hockey because its so fun |

I'm with you on the Olympics. I'd be happy if none of the Hawks made it. |

Hi Phil...
I know it's obvious, but staying healthy is key...and it applies to all clubs. If the Hawks stay healthy they should have a great opportunity at consecutive cups.
But history shows it's a brutal road to repeat as NHL champs...
...many things need to fall into place.
Should be fun watching them try. |

Picked him up early in the season for the ol' FF team. Worked out pretty well! Seems like a good kid, too. |

LOL...indeed.
I clearly recall the 1980 club...
...and the Munich games are still fresh in my mind with regular updates from Jim McKay. |

Going negative as a way to go positive, like last night's Hawks game? |

Phil,
You honestly blame Mel Tucker for the Bears having zero talent on defense? |

In my world the Olympics are nothing more than a two week interruption to my regularly scheduled programming. I would prefer them to be cancelled permanently. |

It takes talent to win in the NFL.
All linebackers are rookies
The down linemen were all bagging groceries a month ago
Peppers is old and showing it.
Tillman is out.
Safeties are bad and couldn't start anywhere but Jacksonville
I'll criticize Mel Tucker when he has actual NFL players to work with, this bunch would be second string for the Eskimo's.
Of course opinions may differ. |

What has me scratching my head is the NHL itself, and the hockey media in general, being so preoccupied with who may or may not make the cut.
I suppose the NHL needs to promote it since it's a reality...hockey as a sport being promoted while the league is quiet. And much of the promotion is coming out of Canada which takes the games seriously. |
