It actually does NOT matter if we get gleason or not. Lets say we trade liles for gleason and we use gleason and he either works out or not. Either way, we were going to buy out liles, so if gleason does not pan out, we buy out gleason. Worth the gamble at this point

If Gleason is the answer, then the question has nothing to do with winning a cup.

I could not care less about this year. The depressing part is that this Leafs team is at least 5 years from the next turnover.

Nothing has changed for this team in at least 30 years. I have a hard time believing that this level of fail is even possible.

We have decent pieces but we are not there yet to fully compete with the big boys even yet the lower end teams we are struggling with.

We have JVR, KESSEL, CLARKSON, LUPUL, KADRI as our top 5, what do we need else in the top 6? A first line center.

Bottom 6: You have Bolland, Raymond as depth, Holland can be used, Mcclement and at least have one fighter of Orr/Mclaren in lineup. So we have 5/6 spots there. What do we need? Another agitator like komarov?

Our defense is our worst. We have Rielly, Phaneuf and one of Gardiner/Franson should remain. 3/6 spots covered, we need to fill the other 3 spots with really good defenders than can defend.

Goalies is covered.

Well majority of the people here were jerking off to him so i thought id include him in the talk (of his camp with the leafs) ... but i dont care much for him, all i know is the coach of the marlies praised percy and granberg for their hardwork, so they should be given a shot at this point if nothing is going to be done to the eafs in regards of trades

Join the club. Never count on ex-Panthers! Even the supposed "good" ones.

Lots of practice, it's like the opposite of a shooting range. Must be pretty easy to play elsewhere after facing 30+ shots almost every night. But holy (frank), look at Weiss, Booth, Ballard, Jokinen, Bouwmeester(he hasn't been horrible, but still), etc.

Agree with most but I think Gunnar deserves a spot, even if he is more suited for a second line pairing.

Phaneuf - ???
Gunnarsson - Franson
Rielly - Fraser/Ranger

As much as I like Gardiner, I think he has to be used as a trade piece for a stable, stay at home d-man. We really don't need 4 offensive guys on D, especially considering 3 of them are LH.

Targets: Marc Staal, Stephane Robidas, Zbynek Michalek

He has turned it around in St.Louis, 19 pts in 25 games and +13, probably gonna have a career year. Everyone else is spot on though, especially Booth. I can't believe the panthers managed to unload him and that contract when he was coming off a 40 point -31 season. The guy has made a killing off that one good year he had in 08-09.

Woah, I had to double check J-Bo's numbers, knew he was having a good year but that's damn good. Nice move by the Blues. Yeah, but to be fair the Canucks gave up two old scrubs for Booth(Sturm and Samuelsson) and also got a 3rd round pick in return. He started off decent, got hurt on a knee-on-knee and has sucked since, until his last 3 games this year. Once he's bought out, I still think a smart team should try and sign him cheap on a one year deal, could workout big time.

all i want is accountability. the refs who made these calls should be reprimanded by the league. im sure the leafs will have soft calls go their way but the malkin/jvr calls were absolutely embarassing and its bad for the league.
- MetroidPrime

Just finished watching the PVR. The Ref you are looking for is #12 Monsieur St. Pierre of Dolbeau, Quebec. Not sure he has a personal bias .

He should be fined and suspended for negligence.

why would the staals, from a hockey hotbed, all want to play for a team nobody cares about? if those three guys are happy playing in nowheresville, they are not welcome on my team or on team canada.

Ya some of the guys who follow the Marlies have been saying he's been pretty poop (aside from the big hits), still way too early if he ever develops. Apparently the best two have been Liles-Granberg as a pairing...which isn't exactly surprising since one is a former NHL veteran with a few 40 point seasons on his resume

Agreed not big on blaming the coachs but really he's trying to make the team his style instead adapting his game plan and it's killing them. Although nonis is a big fan of Carlyle and I doubt we see much change at the moment, as far as coaching is concerned. Don't understand why he can't see the benefit of letting the offense go more.

He did say last night that teams rarely score off the rush now. So at least he admits his system is poop.
