I never had a chance to defend myself against that narcissist stee.

The Doors
CSNY
Metallica
Van Halen
REM
Dave Matthews Band
Jimmy Hendrix
Aerosmith
Bruce Springsteen
KISS
The Eagles
Bon Jovi
Mötley Crüe

That's just off the top of my head and not including 90's bands and pretty much every major lame pop star. The Beatles and the Stones are probably the two biggest bands of all time no doubt, but it starts to fade out quickly after that.

Probably true, but the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd are 1, 2, 3 in record sales.

Then AC/DC (Aussie), Queen, and the Stones. That's 5 of the top 6.

ABBA at 7, and the Eagles are the first Americans to make an appearance at #8.

I like Queen.. They were rad. All good bands man. My favorite Brit band is definitely The Who. Britain is a major source of historic bands and played a massive roll in the creation of rock. Like I said tho, once Neil's rocking in the free world came out and inspired the grunge movement it solidified America at the top. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Janes Addiction, Alice in chains and so on. There's great bands from all over the world tho. Rush, ACDC, U2 come to mind.

Genesis/Phil Collins is way the hell up there, too.

The list is fascinating. I got if off of Wikipedia and filtered out solo acts.

If I were to include solo acts, the UK isn't as dominant, but they do pick up Elton John at #4 all time record sales.

Ugh, grunge...

There was a brief period of time where Oasis could join the all-time greats but money and drugs/booze got in the way.

Was never a big Stones fan. Can't stand Sabbath or ACDC

Beatles
Floyd
Queen
Jethro Tull
Yes
Zeppelin

Saw Steve Hackett from Genesis in Belleville a month or so ago. Not a big fan of Peter Gabriel but the instrumental in that band was good.

You could say that about a lot of bands. But you could also argue that drugs made bands what they were. Nirvana died because Kurt was too deep in heroin.

I think it was the heroin that was deep in him
