I guess I was wrong about Cappy being gone by December 1st!!!

Sorry guys... this is one time I wish I was right.

jimmyc...I don't think Cappy is the whole problem. I think the one above him has to accountable also...

Because that is way too much!!!

You would give up a first, Donovan and Poulin for Miller???

Plus... I don't think the goaltending is that bad.

Fix the defence... that would make the goalie look a lot better.

- jimmc7722

Though I don't think either of these kids are there yet (poulin or nillson) and who knows if they ever will be I agree with you jim. Fix the defense from the front to the back and both of those kids look a lot better.

Agreed. Its getting to a ridiculous point. Though I don't expect snow to get fired. He's got a life time get out of jail free card.

Well I think we know Snow will be staying... so the best we can do is fire Cappy, and hopefully we can find some NHL defenceman to help out this team.
- jimmc7722

Looking at snows track record I wouldn't hold your breath.

Um did you even read it? Fine. I take it back. The Islanders and their fans are pathetic and you deserve everything you get.... Better?

He doesnt deserve to have a Job in the NHL but with Wang his boss. Well lets look at it this way. After nearly single handedly destroying the Islanders. Mike Milbury basically resigned!!!!!

It wasn't as bad as I thought after rereading it. I'm a bit sensitive these days. I do like this post better though.

Expect more of the same. Snow knows this is his first and last gig. He's going no where and Wang is not goong to fire him.

Garth is showing more loyalty to Cappy than his on prospects like Nelson and what he showed Nino. Just think about that.

I will be the first to admit I backed Snow through the rebuild... only because I thought that was the only way to improve this team.

We knew Wang wasn't putting up any money for FA's.

But I think he dropped the ball this offseason with the additions of Regin, and Bouchard.

I didn't like it @ all.

Streit being let go was a must... only because of the money and term he wanted.

But it left us short on depth.

Then of course we get all the injuries on the back end...

My wishlist for this year is...

Cappy gone.

Vanek to resign.

Trade for defence... (NHL quality)

I know it will be tough to find decent defenceman... but we need some consistency.

Not sure on a Cappy replacement... haven't thought far ahead.

I'm sure Weight would take over for the rest of the season... then see who is available in the offseason.

I agree we don't know about Poulin or Nillson yet... but Nabby is gone, let roll with the young goalies and see what they can do.

He doesn't but if we were to get the 1st overall next year and kept the pick, you wouldn't draft Mcdavid but would draft a goalie or d man?
- mighty13duck

I am not against drafting McDavid but still does not solve anything. Just look at the Oilers with Hall, Eberle, Gagner, Yakubov and N-H. Outside Hall they are very similar in size and play. Islander have the same exact issues on F and D.

The problem is that this team has not strategy in terms of building a team. They drafted heavily in Forward positions 3-8 years ago and when they drafted D, it was the likes of Ness, DeHaan, Dehart, Donovan, Gervais, McDonald. Drafting Nino and Strome with #5 picks made no sense.

I liked drafting Nino and Strome over using an entire draft on D or drafting goalies back to back.

I remember getting attacked because I had a problem with using an entire draft on D.

remember when snow offered howson your entire draft - which included the #4 overall pick - to move up 2 spots to the #2 overall pick?

While I'm not sure that happened, it would not shock me. This team going outside the box has not helped. Backup goalie as GM, 15 year contract for a goalie and hiring nothing but minor league coaches.

maybe the isles should merge with my devils. isles have the offense, the devils the defense and goaltending. here's an idea trade strome for larsson stright up. helps both teams.

Not defending him but I thought that rumor was just that? A rumor and it was scoffed at? Idk. If you think you have a superstar in the making and you're pretty confident about it. Its not really all that nuts.

Hard to tell it it was real or rumor. I can see doing it for a Crosby, but that was not the case in this situation.
