As bad as we have been...and some of it has been downright bad...we are amazingly one point out of a playoff spot and 4 points behind the nearest wildcard spot.

I noticed that too. I think the high man needs to be deeper in the slot. From what I've seen it seems DeBoer likes that guy high so that he can keep the play in the zone. When the other team tries to reverse the puck to the weak side, our high man is in a good position to pressure the puck. I don't think it would change that if he was deeper and it still puts him in a good position to get back quickly on defense.

I don't mind the competition in net. I think it pushes both of them and if you think about how many bad performances have we had from our goalies? Marty has had a couple but I really can't remember a poor game from Schneider. DeBoer has to ride the hot hand though, which is why Schneider had every right to be pissed that he had to sit for 3 games.

That second Vancouver game was the only bad one for Schneider where we dominated them and he let in those two soft goals and we lose in the s/o I mean we got a point but had he not let those 2 softies in we would be tied in third. Vancouver didn't deserve a point that game let alone both of them. Same can be said about Marty like you mentioned. Both Alberta games we should of won but didn't because Marty couldn't stop a beach ball during that stretch. We win those 2 Alberta games and that Vancouver one we would be a full 2 points ahead of Washington for second place in our division and no one is then really questioning anything about this team.

I actually think we have lost our last few games at the Bell center. Now I can't remember if it was Marty's fault cause I can't remember he might not even of been playing last time we went there. Can't really remember if he missed the Bell center game last year due to injury or not. Montreal is a quick skilled team and has given us trouble lately. Hopefully now that our back end is a lot more mobile then it had been vs them we get the better of them!

Nice win though i thought for sure we'd lose in a shootout.
Enroth played really well for them, and i thought Schneider was solid again for us.

Hopefully that changes a few peoples opinions on him being a decent fighters. I mean he is a scrappy guy but that was bound to happen. He got 3 or 4 good punches in thing is not one of them seemed to even phase Foligno in the slightest way. Also don't think Foligno is a animal when it comes to fighting. Clearly better then Carter but by no means can he take on enforcers.

I agree the way he can carry the puck and drive to the net hard is something we need as the other lines don't do that they just cycle and cycle for long periods of time till they find Zajac wide open and he blows it

He can play hockey and doesn't get KO'D when he fights. I am pretty sure he is has struggle to produce this season but still we know Clowe is never coming back and even if he does he won't be fighting or he will be a vegetable.

Well I mentioned Stewart because he is likely more available then Lucic. Also because if we had a player like him you don't need Janssen in your lineup as he can fight the goons and handle himself when he does. I do think they are a bad trade partner for us though as with Petro, Jaybo, Shattenkirk and the rest of the D they have over there they would never have a use for Merril and we don't have a roster player we could give up for him without hurting our play and we have zero F prospects to get it done.

I mean he has 11 points in 25 games maybe he would do better in the east ? I know even though he isn't producing the numbers they likely expect from him this year he still brings an import aspect to their game and that is having a physical presence on the ice for more then 3-5 minutes a game.
