They have guys who can score goals, but something is missing.

Mason comes up big in a back to back and shut's the opponent down in OT. What more can you ask?

Couturier continues his confident play, and it's showing in all facets of his game...Mez with a rainmanian spinorama dish to him and he quickly puts it top shelf...nice job by Coots to drift back and lose the opposing coverage there. This kid's coming on and it's been great for the Flyers...the Downie acquisition has been a catalyst...he did good work on that goal too.

Let me make it clear that I'm not in love with the shootout. I'm just okay for what it is, a tie breaker. Love it or hate it, we all watch it to make sure our team managed a "W".

So many hate the shootout, the All-Star game, numbers being retired and whatever else we choose to complain about. Just making it clear that I barely pay attention to these things but I don't hate any of them. Don't love them, just okay with them. I find them to be, not that big a deal.

in bold we really have no choice, the shootout is like that brother in law you cant stand but have to deal with on holidays, you really have no choice, lets hope they extend overtime next season & find a way to mitigate the damn thing

Imagine how good this team will be if the top two lines ever start playing well at ES.

Happy for Mez, that was a very nice play to set up Couts.

I thought Vinnie was going to stop before he shot it, that was sneaky.

I love Jake, but that might have been his worst game as a Flyer, what a nightmare.

What a boring team Nashville has had and still has ever since they've been in the NHL. The only season they had a talented team was when Forsberg played there for 1/3 of a season. I'm not sure if it's their drafting or what, but they have zero talent at forward and never had any there. I hope they re-locate.

I'm losing faith in Jake. I wouldn't be opposed to trading him at all.

and watch him become a sniper somewhere else? no thanks, seen enough of that one already. i do admit i was hoping he'd bench himself at some point during tonight's game, as he was clealry the worst player on the ice for either team, but he's still young and will no doubt be rounding into a good/great player. i want to see them keep these young guys together.
also, i wonder if mez can recapture some of his game and attract some interest. great assist on couturier's goal

Flyers are quite boring themselves, they really struggle offensively and seem about as creative as white bread. That move from Mesz was one of the more exciting this entire season, and it came at the perfect time, but for an incredibly long stretch before that I was nearly falling asleep the game was so dull.

And without Mason the Flyers don't win that game. He was incredible once again.

My expectation is not for Raffl to become Gagne. An aging, injury prone Gagne is already better. My expectation is for Raffl to play in the bottom six and kill penalties. I just don't think he's been that great at it.
- Schenn2shine

Been that great at what, killing penalties? It seems a bit early to make that determination as he hasn't been used on the PK all that much, and in the past 2 games (games in which he has been on the PK), the Flyers have killed off something like 12 penalties.

I think Raffl could be pretty good, given a chance...certainly as good as some of our under-performing and more generously paid players. On the 4th line against Winnipeg he had more shots than G, and that's with no PP time. Also, we have a 4th line that eats about 10 minutes per game and that's something to complain about?

I'll never understand the need to be critical of guys making little money who bust their ass because they know they are on the bubble versus guys making boatloads of cash who aren't even close to earning their paycheck with their play so far this season and last.

Adam Hall, $600k this season, best faceoff guy in the NHL in November, kills penalties, and busts his ass every time he sets skate to ice.

Jake is having an ok season, but every time he passes the puck it's a turn-over waiting to happen. Same with Streit. And Giroux isn't exactly setting the world on fire so far this season.

If there are guys to be overly critical of regarding their performance this season, every single one is at the top of the pay scale for the Flyers.

They have elite talent up and down their lineup. Any one of our top 9 forwards would instantly become their best forward. The Flyers also have had some exciting moments in recent years and Nashville hasn't. Don't compare the Flyers to Nashville. Nashville's best forward ever was Radulov and he'd rather play in Russia than play on boring Nashville.

No debate about the talent, but the Flyers barely beat a Nashville team with modest offensive talent, an incredibly young d-corps, no Shea Weber, and a rookie, 3rd string goalie.

There's just no denying the Flyers are offensively challenged as they stand 27th in the league in goals per game.

no problem with this at all

so many years of outplaying a team only to see their "hot" goalie stand on his head. so nice to have a young, reliable guy do that for the flyers finally.

The one thing they are starting to slightly remind me of is Montreal during that hot streak run with Halak.

We are 9-4-2 in november. Not saying we have dominated or faced the toughest opposition, but still good numbers. Also two points out of third and four points out of second with a game in hand.

Just watching the emergence of Mason as a top flight starting goalie and the continuing development of Sean Couturier into a two way force has already made this season a good one for me.
