I don't like em. I can't put my finger on it but nah, I couldn't get wasted and watch a game in one of those.

Bobby Ryan.

"Ryan said there was one on-ice adjustment with his transition from Anaheim to Ottawa. Senators head coach Paul MacLean wants his forwards to engage opponents who go to the half-wall with the puck in the defensive zone. Ryan remembers then-Ducks head coach Randy Carlyle demanding they stay in the middle of the ice. “If the goalie can’t stop it from out there, we’ll get another one,” Ryan said Carlyle would say"

Phaneuf needs some back-up on the back end.

Maybe move Gardiner, prospect, and a pick for Tyler Myers

Leafs may have to ride it out until the deadline. Plus salary cap will go up next year and the following years.

Otherwise we're (frank)ed with the kessel deal and phaneuf deal coming up

You could always ask buffalo to retain some salary for this year only? Not sure you can do that or that would work. And have buffalo send some lower salary guys under 925K that we could shove in the minors and pay them off for them to compensate

Leafs have learned NOTHING from last Nay's tragic playoff collapse to Boston.

I thought it was case of the Leafs growing & learning as a team but I don't believe anymore that is the case. I believe this team has some serious inner flaws.
I just can't pin point exactly what they are.

Too many 'me-first' players.

I love the heart of the team but am not a fan of kadri. He has shown time and again that he is a dirty rat of a player. Thing is his salary is digestable because he does have lots of upside.

Kessel has improved and has made some great passes of late. Normally a shoot first guy. Also his contract shows he is a selfish guy first, leaf second. No way he was worth that money.

And Clarkson signed where the money was. Another hefty/self-serving contract.

Losing MacArthur, Komarov and Grabovski was a significant loss of grit, determination and sandpaper. None of my Leaf fan friends seemed to agree with me, but I think those three guys are sorely missed on the ice and in the dressing room.

Having played high level hockey, the dressing room factor is a big element of a team enjoying itself and finding itself.

This team looks to me, like its not having nearly as much fun as last year, and there seems to be a tuning out of Carlyle as well.

I thought Carlyle did a superlative job last year, with some serious slippage in the game seven against Boston. Not calling timeouts, doing something to slow down the Bergeron, Lucic, Chara onslaught probably lost the confidence of the team.

If it wasn't for much better goaltending so far, I would say this team would be a decent candidate for a lottery pick.

Well the goaltending seems to have hit a wall in the last 3-4 games so there plenty of season left to get in that lottery position..
