problem with the cap rising is we tend to forget that it rises for everyone and so salaries inflate, and it still prohibits the rich teams from outspending the rest of the league. i think no matter where the cap goes, teams are always going to be fighting the same battle they're fighting today with building a team in compliance.

Realistically how many teams can spend to that limit?

At least 2/3 of the league could not sustain that spending and survive.

Good question, I'm drawing a blank on how they calculate that.

On 100 mil, if you take the last cap into consideration, around 80 mil but no way they would let it rise that high.

If the Cap ever goes to 100m it's because the revenues have climbed high enough. High enough that at least half the teams would be able to spend to it. At least half.

I blame Bettman for that. Canada should take 4 of the struggling American teams and he can start watching the money roll in.

Oh yeah.. American Patriot. Hockey should stay in US not Canada. Same.

Ah sorry.

I'm around them all the time and they always poke fun of themselves. Habit.

I'll make sure to avoid that.

it wouldnt work at all would it

also.. cap ceiling is set 15% above midpoint and floor set 15% below

so if the ceiling was 100 million, the mid point would be 86.956 million, meaning the cap floor would be 73.913 million.

it would absolutely bankrupt most of the league
