he's not wrong though it is odd. great to see, though 3-4 years ago I wouldn't have thought Markov would be in the top 10 in points for dmen right now

Considering Pacioretty's been injured and Desharnais was in a colossal slump, I don't think it's all that odd.

No matter who are the forwards who are hot at the moment and get the most PP minutes, Markov and Subban are always back there.

no doubt but it does speak to the lack of a top forward right now, will it change by the end of the season, hopefully

i can't believe what he looks like this year. before the season started i was sure this was his last year in Mtl and maybe even the NHL but he's back to playing at an elite level. i do question whether he can keep this level up through 82 games, to say nothing of his Olympic involvement. but him, Subban and Price have really carried this team through the first third of the season.

forward will need to start carrying their weight though. especially when you consider that it's conceivable that our starting goalie and 4 of our top 6 dmen are going to the Games.

yes and Emelin really stabilizes things. when he was out, that second pairing was a black hole. it was like having one first pairing and 2 thirds. he helps balance things out. would still love to see Tinordi come up and take a spot on the third pairing, rotating with Murray. Bouillon should an emergency guy only.

Hopefully both Tinordi and Beaulieu will be NHL ready next season.

Having Markov and Subban on the top pairing, then Emelin with Beaulieu, and Tinordi Gorges would be pretty good.

I agree, it would be great. I have a feeling one of those guys is going to get packaged up for some front end help though.

They will get one this year.

Bergevin is trying hard as hell.

He'll pay the (expensive) price for a young scorer who will hopefully become part of the core.

Maybe, it's not something I considered while putting the names out there.

Amsterdam is paying alcoholics to clean the streets, but there is a twist. The payment? Beer.

Some alcoholics were causing a nuisance in one of Amsterdam's parks. Now, through a special program, the men are being kept busy cleaning streets. For a day's work, they receive 10 euros (around $13 U.S.), a half-packet of rolling tobacco and five cans of beer — two to start the day, two at lunch and one for after work.

Gerrie Holterman, who heads the Rainbow Foundation project, which is funded by the Dutch state and donations, says the aim of the project is to keep the men occupied and away from disruptive fighting and noise-making in the park.

One 45-year-old alcoholic, named Frank, says, "I think I can speak for the group and say that if they didn't give us beers then we wouldn't come. ... We need alcohol to function."

Holterman says: "Heroin addicts can go to shooting galleries, so why shouldn't we also give people beer?"

problem is that Montreal need to be wary of the cap. if they plan on having Markov and Subban around for the next few years, there's not much room for an upgrade.

the problem for him is that they were named Craig Rivet and Mike Komisarek. It's the first time he has a partner that's as good as him.

i don't mind if Pacioretty is dealt for someone similar in age. but the idea of Pacioretty plus picks/prospects for Nash doesn't appeal to me. i don't want to see any moves that make the core of this team older.

Trading Pacioretty for a guy like Pacioretty is not doing much for this team imho.
