Don't know, obviously, but interesting play: there was a delayed call there on Seabrook for shoving Pirri's stick into Hudler's path.
- StLBravesFan

I don't think it helped when after Pirri lost his stick he just stood flatfooted and grabbed a guy going past him.

If Raanta continues to play like he did last night you won't see Khabby in a Hawk uniform again.

I like it. He does seem to move really well. Which then again is probably necessary for a guy his size. Imagine a guy at 5'11 who looks that small in the net. We are so used to seeing today's generation of HUGE goaltenders. He certainly looked happy to get the W in his first start. Small sample size but hard not to like what we see there. First impressions are huge !

He was I think but then for some reason he reached out and grabbed a Flame. I believe that's what did it for Q.

The Hawks never feel like they are out of a game. They don't really get rattled, as they believe in their system, but it sure helps to have world class talent as well. Kane is definitely playing at an extremely high level. It is very fun to see. A lot can happen because it is such a long season, but beating the Hawks four times in a seven game series come postseason time is going to be extremely tough for any team. As may posters have said, it is definitely a great time to be a Blackhawks fan.

LOL. Yeah that's the obvious one. Not his best moment. I had forgotten about that in the midst of all the excitement of the comeback.

Anyone know what Pirri did to land in Q's doghouse?

- Tugboat

Yes, he screwed up just inside the attacking blue line, gave up the puck instead of getting it deep, then dropped his stick on the back check.

Q purchases monthly bus passes to Rockford. So far Morin is the only guy using them. Pirri better be careful.

When Bickel comes back and everyone is healthy this team will have three scoring lines. The talent on this team is scary good
Will shaw end up the 2C?
Bollig may have trouble finding ice time with everyone healthy

Just a little reinforcement for the youngster; I doubt it is permanent. With Handzus back the team had five centers in the game last night, and Q was able to send a message to Pirri reinforcing the coach's mantra. I know it seems that the young guys are being picked on by Q, but I believe he is really just trying to instill a style of play and defensive responsibility on the young guys.

Happy Bird-Eating everyone. And thanks, Canada, for hockey!!

- mohel

What was that message? Play perfect? No mistakes? What's the Mantra?

Or does Mantra = the boards collective deferral to something nobody can see or understand?

I don't doubt what you say in your last sentence, it is almost comical half the time trying to justify or understand what causes this phenomona. Obviously Q prefers other guys, his call, but Pirri on at least 2 occasions made nice defensive plays back checking and blocking centering pass and clearing the puck.

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Frank, the first mistake made by any Hawk forward all season. Pirri blew it.

I'd actually like to see Shaw end up on the wing. He seems to have found some chemistry with Kane and Toews on the PP. With Zeus back he could take the 4C spot with Kruger taking over 3C.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American brothers! Load up on the turkey and enjoy the time off with your family and friends!!!

What I'm thankful for this year:

1. Two Cups in four years
2. The promise of potentially more to come
3. Toews for being one of the best in the league
4. Kane for having the best hands in the league
5. My family and friends
6. Hossa for being on everything in 3 zones
7. ....

I sure hope so. Khabibulin should be allowed to just dissapear with pay, lol.
Raanta will challenge Crawford for the #1 gig down the road. He reminds me so much of a young Bobrovski when he broke in with the Flyers. You could see he had it and hopefully for Raanta and the Hawks he succeeds.

Happy Thanksgiving to everybody......even Unnamed Source.

Fun game last night. Saw it from the TSN feed. Was kind of hoping that since they're losing hockey, they'd let the F-bombs fly and tell all the stories you couldn't say and tell the fans what they really think of the players.......Needless to say that didn't happen.

Pirri didn't have a good game and I can see where it warranted a benching. It wasn't just that play where he broke his stick. But I thought he acclimated well with Steeger and Shaw on the third line and his Corsi's have been stellar all year. Snufalufagus (Handzus) was huffing and puffing keeping up with Kane so that won't be an option for too long. Pirri will continue to get chances simply because there aren't that many centers as opposed to where there are plenty of wings to J-Mo's spot. Here's hoping he rebounds starting Friday.

Raanta was ok. the puck seemed to pop out of the glove a little more than I'd like. And I can see why ideally you'd like this kid to spend a whole year with the Pigs. But he did all you ask of a backup goalie. So here's hoping Q gets him into another game fairly soon. That Florida game on the 8th looks good...

Onwards.

He actually had a couple of bad shifts last night where he made mistakes, one of which led to a goal. As I posted before Q did the same with Saad last year. Hopefully Pirri will respond the same way Saad did and come back all the harder next game. By the way, no one here said he should be thrown off the island.
