I don't mind him so much as a pro scout but as an amateur one i am frightened, he's been terrible in that regard. It's not just with the oilers he did a god awful job with team canada as well. I really really hope you're right that it'll be a group thing and not that he doesn't overrule anyone because he doesn't have the brains for it.

He stinks as does Tropp so it's a nothing move.

Obviously speculation on my part but I cant believe a new hire will pull a ton of weight in their decisions. There is a pecking order I gotta believe. These guys give their reports back on who they like then I get they get vetted by the director then assistant GM and head of scouting.....the analytics dude probably dives deeper into their stats too.

His position gives him influence obviously but I dont think itll be anything that will hurt the team but thats not great either because you want them to help.

Pendergast has probably the worst draft record ever...ever...absolute poop. The sole reason Edmonton has struggled fro so many years. First rounders have an 80% chance of being legit longtime nhlers. Under him our record is about 10%....
