not anymore lol

What do you think TB will give up to get him back at the draft? What was the rumoured deal with Toronto to buy him out before Gary stepped in?

That would be interesting, but I'm guessing Rosehill sits because Tampa doesn't have a true head basher that Berube feels compelled to match.
- johndewar

Certainly, I agree. The only reason I ask is because if it was as simple as Rosehill coming out, I have no idea why anyone around the Flyers would consider that to be anything remotely resembling something to keep a secret.

Meh. It's better than typing out the whole thing. I wouldn't use that term in polite conversation in real life.

true, I really do hate that guy though,
- RileyB77

Why do you hate rinaldo? Hes an agitator for sure but you'd love him if he was on your team.

i believe this is their Stadium Series uniform. it's (frank)ing awful. i didn't know the NY Giants were in the nhl now. cool.
- hammarby31

I'm actually cool with stealing the NY Giants helmet insignia for the crest, but why did they outline it in silver or grey or whatever?

It's like they took that logo off of some other jersey with a different color scheme and slapped it in the middle of the jersey.

Crombeen will get KO by rinaldo in the first 5 min and we will be down a winger...I hope he learned his lesson after the last fight : rinaldo fights dirty and punches when the player is down. if I was the best fighter in the league I wouldn't fight that little poop
- RileyB77

man the trolls are out today
never seen rindalo play dirty

Objectively speaking, Rinaldo and Hartnell are pretty easy to hate, if you're not a Flyers fan. Judging by the reactiong from the Talbot/Downie trade around here, gut reaction against Downie for the McAmmond hit is still strong as well. Now everybody hates Emery, too.

That excuses it? Why didn't he go after Rinaldo and do it to him? Things get heated in Hockey. You have your right to dislike Rinaldo, but he isn't a dirty player. He actually plays a very clean game. His check are very stong, but clean.

While he's had a few bright moments, and we've seen some of his trademark gaffes, his play as a whole has been nothing more than pedestrian. Maybe I'm finding it nearly impossible to reconcile that with his cap-hit, term and the circumstances surrounding his signing.

If this was about taking the trade-off between above-average puck-moving for below-average defensive play from a guy like Tom Gilbert, on a $900k, 1-year bargain, I'd be over the moon. But Streit is taking over FIVE MILLION BUCKS per... how many Tom Gilberts could you buy with that?

Thats my point exactly. Flyers definitely outbid themselves on this one again.

Think the NHL's brand strategy is to contrast the throwback aesthetic of the WC/HC games, with more "current" look and feel for the Stadium Series games to draw a stark contrast between the events.

Personally, I think the metallic logo style and the Isles jerseys are rank.

And it would even make a little sense, in a paying tribute kind of way, if the game was going to be at Giants stadium.

There was some of that, to be sure, but let's be honest: With the new TV deal, Mark Streit's cap hit is going to be irrelevant.

The cap could go up as much as $15 million in four-to-six years. It'll be up by at least $7 million in two-to-three years, when Streit's play would be something that we would all have to worry about.

And if Mark Streit is still being counted on in three years...I mean, we'd have bigger problems than him to worry about, right?

I thoroughly enjoyed the newest Brad Marsh blog, which talks about his views on what makes for a good coach and what he specifically learned from the various coaches played for over the years. The stuff on Pat Quinn, Bob McCammon and especially Mike Keenan and EJ McGuire is really interesting, as well as Marshy's own admission that he was not careful about his own conditioning until he came to play for Keenan.

This is Isles and Rangers in this game, right?

They should simply wear unis from 1979 from when Denis Potvin took out Ulf Nilsson and not overthink it too much.

Wait until they're both playing hockey.

Let's see... That's at least 4 years from now. M4 should be playing for free in the CHL by then, right? RIGHT?

Just because the cap is going to go up; isnt a good reason to make poor signings.

I'm thinking it will go up at least 15 mil in the next two. The NHL has already established that coming out of a lockout their Cap is artificially low. Add to that the new TV contract which nets the teams 15 mil a season. Half of that goes to the players so there's 7.5 on top of the understated Cap and whatever the typical revenue increase is.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was 80 mil in 2015.

Yeah lockouts!!!!
