I wouldn't be so sure of that. I'm not saying they will grab him but given what's on the line for this team at this point, the ability to grab Klesla @ 2.8 mil for the season as opposed to acquiring salary via trade at the expense of picks/prospects might be too good to pass up.

Klesla makes 3 mil. No way the Islanders will pick that up. Although I am not sure how the rules exactly work on picking up the salary after getting a player of the waivers.

Never far away...just too disgusted to comment, lately. A new morning ritual has been added to my day...the Cappy & Snow Watch. As soon as I get up, I check TSN & HB, hoping to see a (badly) photoshopped image of Charles Wang in a kimono, sword drawn with two heads rolling on the floor. He knows.. to be honest I think he is a lot more restricted $ wise then he lets on .. by Wang. As Vukota's last comment alludes too... even the Vanek trade it got done b/c they ate some $ too in the trade. I don't think we pick anyone up that doesn't have a bigger cap hit than actual $.

Isles going to elementary schools is actually a very nice thing. I would have killed to have them come to me when I was younger. What a cool experience for the kids.

our defense is small and not physical, but could be servicable if two things happened:

a> our coaches actually got these guys playing a system that they understood and could follow. How often do we see both defensemen in the corner on the same man and no one in front of the net? Or both on the same side of the ice against the oncoming rush leaving someone wide open? Or not tying up the sticks in front of the net?

b> if our forwards would focus on helping the d by backchecking and staying with a man instead of half-assing it and leaving them open once they reach the high slot and in? Or by not leaving the zone early and waiting for the stretch pass

coaching is the issue with this team. On the pk and even strength we are godawful in our coverage, communication and lazy on assignments. Our whole roster spends too much time watching the puck and not enough time making sure they're in position to make a defensive play.

Clearly this is not working with this current coaching staff, and I include Weight and Thompson in this mix. After 24 games, if you can't get your players to make safe line changes, to pick up assignments defensively and to not leave the zone ahead of the puck, you have failed as a coach.

Clean house. We won't be undersold, everything must go. Fire sale, one day only, everyone's getting fired.

make it happen. Our season is shot, let's get someone new in here who can stress defense and actually get a system in place that works so we can come out of the gate next year and actually compete. Losing is bad for the psyche and bad for the fans. It needs to end now and heads must roll.
