Depends
Would he be an offensive coach? This team can't play trap and I don't wanna be like the Rags or Devils

- Danformo

While Ranger and Devils games are very boring at least they get to see playoffs more often than not. This team needs to be more disciplined and with the talent we got on offense a trap wouldn't be as boring. JT will put the puck in the net regardless.

I agree with that. They went half a period in 2nd without a shot.
It's getting worse with each game

I want to take my 2 1/2 yr old son to game tomorrow and I'm not sure I want to expose him to this.

I hear you. Its a shame really. Sad that this crap is allowed to continue.

Has exactly ZERO games coached at an any level. Hire Guy Boucher.

Would be to smart of a choice for Isles, next in line is Weight and if he doesn't pan out, then its the Bridgeport coach......Wang will not spend $$$ for a coach

The same putrid performances this team has given in October and November since this "rebuild" started. Throw away the first two or three months of the season, fall out of the playoff picture, then play well when it doesn't matter. That's been the islander way under Cappy, Gordon and Snow. The only reason it didn't happen last year was because the season was too short.

This team has no consistency. They never show up for a full 60 minutes. No good team fails to show up for 60 minutes night in and night out like the isles do. Give up goals in bunches. Give up goals at beginnings and ends of periods. THe signs of an unprepared and mentally weak team.

Spot on... I definitely think if last year was a full season, Isles WOULD NOT make the playoffs, but others might differ because of ridiculous possible STATS

This season is proving the islanders benefited from that shortened season.

We are all die hard fans, but some fans need to come to reality. I know we all try to be optimistic about the Islanders, but we also have to be realistic about this team.

Some of these arguments that people have here is comical. Some think that Bailey, Grabs, KO, etc are the second coming of stars or slowly becoming one.
Anyone on this team except JT and Vanek are marginal or above average players. Anyone on this team should be dealt for a better player/players. Hate to say it, but this team lacks talent. I'm worried that the Isles prospects will get ruined and even completely destroy this teams future.

This team is poorly coached and lack of experience will hurt the progression of players. Definitely a more experienced coach will probably get better production out of Bailey, KO, Grabs, etc. But moving forward, these are not winning players or even a winning coach. Until you install both, this team will NEVER succeed.

Hope you and everyone else had a nice Thanksgiving......

I disagree to an extent. I think this team has the talent up front for the most part but aren't playing to their ability. Even with the defense and goaltending we have this team is underacheiving. Capuano is not a good coach. Yeah the players need to man up too but a good coach gets more out of a team than this.

which players do you consider having talent but are not playing up to their ability?
Plus who do you consider the top 6 are?

we all know this team has no top 4 D unit, so I wont even ask on the defensive side.

I don't get why people are being critical if KO, he's playing great. Easily the best hockey if his career, and he may not be a star but he's easily a top 6 in this condition

Bailey has the tools for top 6 , but not the internal desire.
The main issue to me is with Viz gone, we have 1 top 4 Dman on this team - Hammer

There u go. It's not the offense. Our defense and goaltending is the problem.
Even if bailey , grab not scoring. We still scoring plenty.

Put the Canadians or rangers defense and goaltending with our forward with out offense and we would be one of top in division.

As critical u was of Streit. Having Streit and viz on pp was meaningful.
We never upgraded. Snow thought Donovan was ready to be a top 4 dman. Cappy on other hand hates him.

I think ko is having a great season. Unfortunately he starting to get lazy again and he could lose his chance for spot on team USA.

Bailey, grabner, clutterbuck, pretty much everyone on this team besides jt who is playing good but could prob play better. These guys have ability and talent but aren't playing to their abilities. A good coach could get that out of them.

Yeah. I'd consider them the top six and there is some talent there. I think I may be missing your point?

Of the majority of all playoff teams/or successful teams, compare the isles top 6 to others and I think isles are so far behind in talent level. Now that's just my opinion......

Bos, Tor, MTL, SJ, ANH, CHI, NYR, LAK, OTT, Pitt, STL, Van, Wash, are teams that I think have a much better top 6 than us...

I didn't even include COL, EDM, PHI who I think also have much better top 6 talent but just not as successful yet.

Now grant it, I'm discounting the extreme lack of talent of the D side. "which is a major reason this team lacks over-all skill"

As a whole product of the team, Isles do not have any winning caliber character guys besides JT and possibly Vanek

We need a new coach. The rangers? Nah. I think our top six is pretty good. Like I said they are underperforming. Being misused imo. Not playing consistently or to their ability. They aren't playing good agreed but with a better coach they would imo

A new coach, completely agree but only if the coach has experience or a winning track record. Bc another no-name coach will not get it done either

Why because he is not putting up the points at the same rate so therefore he is lazy?? He is still playing the same game he has since the beginning of the year but now the points aren't there as much. Doesn't mean he is being lazy

I'd love nothing more than to have a coach with a resume but I'm pretty sure it'll be weight. If that is the case then lets get the show on the road here. Needs to happen now.

I don't disgree but if its going to happen snow needs to do it now to see what he has with him. Of changes need to be done after his inevitable hire he can then do it in the offseason. This has gotten to the point of stupidity. Snow needs to wake the fack up.
