I wouldn't put Stamkos Getzlaf and Perry ahead of him because whereas each of those have different skillsets that make them special, JT has a little of all of their skillsets. He's a better OVERALL player. I'd probably rank him #3 or 4
*Edit, though I noticed Malkin isn't on this list - keaner17
I disagree completely in regards to Stamkos. This guy is a scoring machine. And can turn a game around in a heartbeat. He's more dynamic then JT. 4 times had seasons with more then a point per game and he hits more then JT. Speed, scoring and hitting belong to Stamkos. He was on track again to produce over a point a game and possibly another 60 goal season.
I also disagree strongly in regards to Getzlaf. Aside from putting up phenomenal numbers. (averaged over a point a game in 5 seasons) Is on track to do it again this season. He is an imposing player and has season Hit totals of 189,182,179, 134 and 89 in last yrs shortened season. Imposing Size, scoring, hitting. He has it over JT.
You have an argument regarding Perry. But Perry is bigger, more physical and still puts up JT type numbers.
I realize JT is younger than them and he may develop into a better player but the discussion is who is better NOW.
So I'll stick to Sidney Stamkos OV Getzlaf and Perry being ranked above JT. At least for now. |

I'm sure there are plenty. Sure there are a couple dozen of us diehards that hang around here talking hockey all year long, but there are probably thousands of casual fans that are interested in that stuff. I agree that the hockey operations side of things need to do a ton more regarding this team but again, you can't shut down the whole operation because the team is in last place. If anything that's when your marketing and sales departments needs to work the hardest. I bought a family four pack about three years ago and because of that I still get calls from the sales dept. about buying tickets. I don't female dog about it and I get it. They have a job to do. Do you really believe that Garth Snow and Capuano are sitting around designing and marketing jerseys? There's plenty to female dog about when it comes to this team but really. - PeteM
The entire organization needs to be in synch and working together. If the hockey staff is doing it's job, it only helps the marketing dept and these jerseys would be a big deal. I know i'm making a bigger deal than I should about this, but I'm pissed this team is in last place again with no signs of any improvements. There is always an excuse for the hockey staff. The prospects are not ready, the building does not allow us to bring in better players. It gets tiring after a while. |

Don't forget injuries. The losses of Strait and Nabakov were devistating to this team. They are both world class players . Mentally prepare yourself for this excuse from Snow and Charlie. |

Wow. McDonald goes from the second line to the press box. Nice to see Regin and PMB still getting the ice time they've earned. - PeteM
successful in that Martinek is out, he's been an absolute gong show on defense. Not at all how I remember his game, it's like he's entirely forgot his defensive positioning.

A guy at the store we were at before asked me what I thought of the jerseys....I said that I'd like to see a couple of defensemen who are taller than my leg wearing them....then I might like them..... |

See...there's the first problem, right there- that first shot from the point HAS TO BE blocked by Bailey. You cannot screen your goaltender and not get anything on that puck. That is one of many defensive problems....but it's one of the major ones. |

Thanks Capt.
Here is a little secret for you Capt. I realized way back last spring/summer that the Isles were gonna $uck this year so I didnt fork over $169.00 for the Center Ice package this season.
I've been following games on SiriusXM radio, Fox Sports South, NBCsports, NHL Channel, TSN, HB and Isle site. Watching Isles highlights on the NHL channel and tuning into other games that seem interesting.
I'll order the Center Ice package for the 2nd half of the season at 1/2 price. This way I wont feel so ripped off by Snow and company.
Ive seen enough Islander hockey to realize that we were right from the start. We knew last summer that PMB & Peter Regin pickups were poor acquisitions. Nabby left his best hockey back in the 2013 shortened regular season & has become a backup goalie. And our "D" is so pathetically undersized, that they would be exposed game in and game out.
Sad but true. Until the next crop of prospects can prove that they belong in the NHL. We are still yrs away from a contending team.

Regin on pace for 11 pts for the entire season.
Bouchard on pace for 15 points. WOW!

these are a couple of nice sites to stream the game live for free:
http://firstrowus1.eu/
http://www.freevip.eu/
quality can be tough to watch sometimes and there's a lot of ads/pop-ups (i recommend downloading Chrome and using the AdBlock extension when using that website) but if you want free live hockey, check them out. - rangerdanger94
Thanks Ranger94. Much appreciated.
I did try some other site but got attacked by virus' and had to scan my computer for hours.
I'll give your sites a try. |
