i remember I was pretty upset about conacher leaving, i had no idea bishop had such an upside. i thought we were bringing in just "some" backup...i heard he was doing good, but didnt really buy it |

*raises hand*
Conacher hasn't looked great this season. Then again most of the team has looked pretty bad. He did score that big goal against montreal last year too. There's still time so maybe they/him can turn things around. Having Lehner still takes some of the sting out of it as they would of had to trade bishop anyway, but a different deal could of been had maybe.
Looking one sided at this point though. - david22
How has Conacher looked defensively for you guys? IMO that was his biggest hurdle he needed to cross to be a top 6 guy, but regardless of his size his D-zone play was less than adequate. Is he showing improvement?

i have absoloutely no regrets with this trade at all, ive followed the lightning for a while but last year was the first year i actually got into hardcore depth and followed them on a daily basis so didnt know we had so much promising young guys to replace conacher |

To really get those juices flowing, the best is yet to come.
Our "core" players in Stammer and Hedman are 22 and 23 respectively.
Sustr, Gudas, Panik, TJ, Palat, JT Brown are also in the 22-23 range
Connolly is 21, Kucherov is 20, Namestnikov 20, Drouin 18, Koekkoek 19. When these guys mature, Carle 29 is going to the elder statesman of our D.
It is absolutely amazing the collection of talent that Yzerman has been able to accumulate.

ya I remember people were upset but mike and many others keep saying we had no much forward depth that we would not miss him really. Idk about you guys but I like Tyler Johnson a little better then Conacher. You can't keep two small guys on the same line in the nhl so one of them really had to get moved. |

Way more versatile. Conacher became redundant in a system that had Johnson and Kucherov at the time. Now we've added Drouin too. |
