I'd be fine with getting rid of Loktionov, Ryder and Brunner. Anyone who wants them for a conditional 7th.
- Rseen

Can't we trade them for an over 35 defense man ?

No...We don't need another Ryder/Brunner.
- Rseen

is he another Ryder/Brunner? i didn't know so many Ryder/Brunners existed until we got 2 of them at the same time! At least Lokti tries. He's not a bad 3rd line center.. I just miss the days of John Madden.

John Madden didn't need to be tied to the hip of Elias and Arnott to be effective and play his role we have 4-5 players that are non existent unless they are put with player X we only have so many player X's and to many guys who need to be tied down to them just to stay a float. Way to much dead weight on this team. Guys have to start carrying their own work load and not relying on others to pick up the slack

I would be calling up the Oilers to see what they want for Hemsky maybe they take one of Brunner or Ryder because they are cheaper and would be better suited for third line duties

The fact that people seriously consider Marty Erat as a viable top 6 option, more so than some of the other scrubs we already have in our top 6, really underlines how horrible this team's FW depth is. No one in the system who can out produce Erat? That's a problem.

It's Martin (frank)ing Erat, guys!

Serious question guys, though I know it's tough to answer this one without sarcasm. But here, unlike other teams, I feel like people here watch other teams play too. So, is it just me or do we seem to get the puck to the point more than any other team in the league in the offensive zone as opposed to making things happen down low? And when we do, doesn't it feel like even before the d-man shoots the puck that nothing will come of it unless Gelinas pots one or creates a rebound that someone else converts? Okay that's two questions.

I think we struggle to move the puck around in the offensive end in general. Anytime we try to get it to the point it's kind of in a desperate situation so the d is always rushed to either shoot a weak shot quick or throw it in deep along the board. Rarely do our defense have time to wind up and aim. Jagr Zajac and Zubrus control the puck but do nothing but cycle a lot of the time. Jagr is about the only one who can get it to the point cleanly for a defense men to get an oppertunity to get a good shot off and even then something (frank)s it up. When you watch Ryder and Brunner with the puck two guys who are out there a lot I notice they are bad with the puck unless there is no one around them. Both guys are pretty weak on the puck and usually a swing of the stick knocks it away from both guys. Both also get swarmed quick because of where they choose to carry or take the puck in the offensive zone so by the time they decide to shoot or pass there is three guys on them and the play is completly broken up. Also for a team that struggle to score goals as bad as we do why do we put our top pp producer on the bench for over half the pp and when we do put him on he has to re enter the zone. To me the coach is making scoring even more difficult then it already is going to be with the personnel we have by not putting the best guys out when given oppertunities like a pp.

I think Brunner seriously lack hockey iq. Someone with his speed should not be struggling to get to where he needs to be to score. He is always 2-3 seconds late getting into the spots he needs to be to pot goals and recieve passes coming across crease. He either doesn't know where his scoring areas are or he just doesn't work hard enough to get in them. Goal scorers yes they usually shoot quite well but they also know where to be to score those goals and when they need to be there.

I feel the same way. It's telling that a team like Detroit didn't want him back.

I don't know what he is. All I know is he isn't producing on a higher scoring team, doubt he scores here. He is overpaid too so I'm not in favour of that unless than take Volchenkov back.

The whole thing is very classic internet sports fans, you win and "OMG I love this team everything is great we're going for the cup" and you lose a game and "Seriously this team is a joke we should trade everyone right now".

Except the difference with Devils fans is they say that second one even when we win.

The Rags forums make me happy. At least they understand their team sucks, Sather sucks, and they're doomed for eternity.
