If you were the GM in Columbus, would you trade Johansen for Kesler and Jensen? I probably wouldn't. - Nucker101
I'd have to think about it, they're stinking it up again, bringing in an American center like Kesler may be good for them. A former 40 goal guy, a Selke winner, who knows what they're thinking? A veteran center only making 5 million may be attractive to them? |

The Schenn's are overrated.
Johansen will be a stud though. - Nucker101
Most PHI fans claim that Brayden's been their best forward so far this season.
Agreed on Luke. But I don't see too many rating him that high at all. |

Trading is so hard to do when the teams are mostly up against the cap. Has to be dollar for dollar. |

I've read the same. For the longest time he seemed to carry the tag of best player not in the NHL. Then he struggled a bit with the transition to the big league. He's a guy with 1C upside and seems to be breaking out at long last. |

From Jan Levine's post, Forbes Magazine NHL valuations.
Here is the Top-10:
Ranking - Team - Current Value - Revenue - Operating Income
1. Toronto Maple Leafs - $1.15 billion - $142 million - $48.7 million
2. New York Rangers - $850 million - $131 million - $27.3 million
3. Montreal Canadiens - $775 million - $127 million - $29.6 million
4. Vancouver Canucks - $700 million - $101 million - $15.8 million
5. Chicago Blackhawks - $625 million - $115 million - $25.6 million
6. Boston Bruins - $600 million - $114 million - $18.5 million
7. Philadelphia Flyers - $500 million - $95 million - $6.0 million
8. Pittsburgh Penguins - $480 million - $107 million - $20.9 million
9. Detroit Red Wings - $470 million - $96 million - $10.5 million
10. Los Angeles Kings - $450 million - $98 million - $8.2 million
Original 6 teams are all doing fairly well. I wonder how much these figures are impacted by on ice performance- How far will the Canucks fall if they miss the playoffs this year?
edit: for perspective,
#30. Columbus Blue Jackets
Current value: $175 mil.
Revenue 2012-13: $69 mil.
Operating income 2012-13: $4.9 mil.
During the 2012-13 season, the Blue Jackets filled Nationwide Arena to just 80% of capacity on average—the lowest figure in the league.

Edler Burrows Shroeder for Eberle Hemsky - VANTEL
Would you do that trade if you were EDM?
If I'm MacT I wouldn't trade Eberle for anything less than a legit #1 D. |

They need a solid D a vet forward and a prospect , plus we are taking Ales salary for one year service
No teams are trading a true # 1 Dman so they have to accept a # 2

Exactly what I thought when it was reported Erat asked for a trade.
Then someone tweeted the Capitals gave up Filip Forsberg, and at the very least they'd want a 1st round pick back.
Booth + former 1st rounder Cam Barker for Erat. - Scooby_Doo
That's not our fault. I couldn't believe it when they did that.
Horrible trade, I'm sure they know they won't get anywhere near that back. |

What about if it was Yakupov and Hemsky? I think Edmonton is afraid to trade any of their younger guys, proven or not, they want proven back. |

Yeah sooner or later they have to make the playoffs. And no question that currently Kesler is the far supiorior player |

Maybe he will PM one of us and then we can share it with the world. - Marwood
He did and he said all though he feels it was unfair and unjust he still respects yeti and in no way holds it against him. Prock says he realizes his ways need to change and fully plans to work on himself & treat this as an opputunity instead of a punishment. With all the work he plans to put in he hopes to be able to sow his love
Of the Canucks from the seeds of jealousy he unbeknownst to him plants
May I be the first to wish Prock the best of luck in his road to recovery |
