and here they are. We love giving up 40-50 shots, especially when we look at the standings afterwards.

Funny how other teams fans were telling us Burke is ruining our team, and phaneuf stinks. Weird.

Bolland will get 3+, Franson possibly 4+ on open market. Gardiner sounds about right. Fraser can go somewhere else for over 2 and Raymond can (and will) move on if it takes 3+ to sign him. Reimer at 5+??? Won't be in Toronto.
- gamedaytix

Bolland will get 5 million on the open market. he's young by UFA standards, he plays centre, and he's making close to 4 now. this is his one chance to cash in.

exactly. That's why i love clarkson.

I also had to drop cody hodgson in my pool, i like the kid but his +/- is going to kill me.

- clark_griswold

I wouldnt have any Buffalo Skaters on the roster. The +/- is not going to be good this year.

I will be surprised if any Sabre player is to finish with a + +/-

I, actually pay attention, to practically every game they play. Phaneuf's return could be HUGE from a contending team in need. If we trade him at the deadline and/or sign a stop gap veteran defender, and spread out Dions minutes amongst our D, there's a good chance we make the playoffs with a new roster player and a high end prospect, AND cap space. He might be our best defender, but he's not our only quality guy on the back end that can eat minutes. Why are most Leaf fans afraid to take chances? Every move a GM makes, or doesn't make, is a crap shoot. Myself, I'd rather sign Bolland long term, for MUCH less than what Dion is going to command. Get a high return for him now ! JMHO.
- LakesideBlues

we're in 3rd place in a very weak eastern conference. Also, i'd say we have our best shot to make noise THIS year (with our pending UFAs). Trading him makes zero sense, if anything, ride him through the playoffs. Any team can come out of the east IMO.

Bolland and Dion have nothing to do with eachother.

If Bozak is getting 4+, Bolland will surely be getting around 5 million I agree!

So as of today the best save in the league walks? That would be so dumb. Reimer is the real deal one of the best in the league. Bernier has let in a weak goal each of his last 5 games. If they choose Bernier over Reimer they are nuts. But it is TO so...
- aminnes

I don't think he gets 5 mil just yet.

5, if he was healthy all year and tearing it up like he was when he was playing. That said, I think he would get 4-4.5 on the open market, but he might like it in TO enough to take a smaller discount than get paid more money in a city and on a team he rather not play for. Who knows really, but to say Bolland is a lock for 5 million is a bit of a stretch.

I love this logic...

Bolland might get Bozak money, but thats just about the limit to what he could hope for at the most. Let's not get goofy now guys. He'll be coming off a pretty serious injury and he plays a lesser role than Bozak.

So... Bolland will get 3+, Franson on the open market 4+, Gardner 1.5+, Fraser 2+, Raymond 3+, Reimer 5+ especially if he holds a top 10 save for the second season in a row, and on and on... There simply isn't room to pay a top 20 to 30 guy 7 million, sorry Dion is a 5.5 million dollar d man anyway.
- aminnes

Your numbers are ridiculous. Your prediction on Reimer's, Fraser's value is so far off the charts it's funny.

This is where the NHL has a problem. What has Bolland done to justify a $5MM a year contract?

Not that I think Bozak's bad, because he's not, I just view Bolland as a better player. Thus I think he's a $4.5 million dollar player on the Leafs.

I do love Reimer, and I'm not saying that I hope he walks. That said, there is no way he gets 5+ from Toronto as an RFA when Bernier is in town. If I had to guess, he will sign a similar deal to Bernier or be traded.

Only according to Leaf fans....

Most projections are in the 66-67 mill range...

- Iggysbff

A 3m raise will be accomplished by the Outdoor games alone. The rest of the increase will come from the difference between 2011 and 2013 NHL revenue.

70m easy.

That's funny...they were talking about it on sportsnet and said 66-67 million....

But I guess you know more than everyone else....

Yes. They have to wait until final numbers are in. But guys saying 70 mill plus are pulling that out of their ass.

he'll sign and he'll get what HE wants... Trade isn't going to happen as someone will have to pay on Dion's terms and the asking price will b higher that 90% of teams (could) pay. He's not spectacular but he's good. Signing him is the best option the Leafs have, painful as 7 mill would be...
- geta02it

7m is not painful at all. It's easily what he's worth.

It's different for each team, to a degree anyways. If Leaf management felt Bozak, who's an "ok" player, was worth $4.2 million to them. Then surely Bollands camp will say hey, I'm worth every bit as much as he is to this team.
