Does anyone know anything on Kostka? He Leddy looked good together, and Rosi still seems to be a half step slow. I can't wait to see this team fully healthy with a rested Crow.

The NFC north is irrelevant...just bad football. Glad I'm not much of a football fan. Unfortunately, now the radio waves will be filled with Bears (plus Bulls) angst.

Luckily I'm not a basketball fan. I just cheer when they're away and not phucking up our ice.

Too many injuries in the NFL this year. Too many teams playing with backups at virtually every position. Teams always have to deal with injuries, but its never been this bad. Its really lowered the amount of good teams and the overall competition level, not just the NFC north but the entire league has played bad football you could say. Not my fav sport at the moment, not even close.

Has anything been said about why Roszival sat the 3rd last night?

I would like to find a good online background noise station that talks hockey. I listen to The Score quite a bit, but between the Bears postmortem and Derrick Rose's meniscus, it's not going to be fun. There will be little else.

There are a few good ones in Canada. I'm sure someone here can post the websites.

I have absolutely given up on WSCR - not one host that I enjoy listening to - and now that NcNeil is apparently gone, only one guy in the morning - can't remember which one, Rozner? - who likes hockey, let alone knows it.

I'm just amazed that anyone can listen to Boers / Bernstein: Boers has no thoughts, and couldn't express them if he did; Bernstein is - Well, Bernstein.

Should get Sirius.

Good thing Stanton is no longer with the organ-I-zation. He was awful last night, and was beaten often in his 10 minutes.

Rosi is a skilled veteran who can be alternately good and bad. He has his games or moments. I am concerned if his skating slows down. But perhaps the many injuries career long he suffers makes it ever the more difficult coming back strong. So in a long season, no doubt Q hoping Rosi can be solid for a playoff stretch. More like, the playoffs itself and not the playoff stretch. The Blackhawks make the playoffs with or without Rosi as a meaningful regular season contributor. Should Rosi not be up to par in playoffs, then he should seriously be let go (if possible if his contract has one year remaining). He is near retirement.

I would like Dahlback to get some NHL time insofar as in the playoffs teams need to be deep on their blueline. Dahlback should get a taste and an idea or feel for the NHL game. His style seemingly would be a good fit. Looking for a safe, reliable third pair depth dman?

FYI: due to injuries Tallon has recalled D Olsen.

The General Manager along time ago put a directive out that told the on air staff they were not to talk about hockey unless they had to. Well the Hawks winning two Cups have screwed that up but other than giving game results they have no desire to bring in hockey people to to talk it up. If they do have someone it's Edzo for 2 minutes and then it's back to the Bears and Bulls.

Ben Smith makes a nice do or die play, which is the difference in the game, and that is your take on the whole game for Stanton?

That directive wouldn't surprise me..for Bears, Bulls, and baseball they have an "expert" who comes on on a certain day of the week at a certain time, sometimes more than one..they have nothing like that for hockey..

To listen to sports radio, particularly the SCORE: It takes someone who doesn't mind the crap heard in commercials and the motor mouths who tend to believe they are both the medium and the message. Really sound often like spoiled kids doing their own play thing. Most hosts do not have a detailed hockey knowledge. I will sometimes tune in for an hourly sports update. Or if I want to hear a Bears break down 5-6 am on Monday. Even the help who answer the phone over the years can be jerks. And over on WGN, Judd Sirott thinks he is a hockey God. Yep, knows his hockey but he gets all puffed up how he wants to determine the every second of his post game. His producer whom takes a call can be a jerk. Attitude problems abound. Guessing that is due to the pressure of wanting to control everything. Insofar as Sirott will be responsible for the success of his pre and post game show, maybe he got the control freak ideology from McDonough.

Not only do they not talk hockey up, Hanley who used to cover the Hawks for the Sun Times, only talks about how the Hawks sucked when he covered them, how bad Orville and Alpo were as coaches and how bad Dollar Bill was as owner. If he does talk about the current team at 5:30 in the AM it's always in a snarky way.

Hey guys, a little late here but, went to the game last night at the Rog. Just a few observations:
It sure seems Q. wants to find out if he can trust Krug's line to be a shut down line, especially in important situations. They were excellent last night, Smith was pulling double duty. Pirri seems to force it to Kaner a little too much.
Faceoffs have really improved; Smith and Shaw were Solid in addition to Kruger. Easily Crow's best of the season. Stellar all night and almost had the rebound save on the 5 on 3. For a guy who's 207lbs Kesler gets manhandled all over the ice.... I have a suspicion he might be acting a little in hopes to draw a call If that guy would just play hockey and cut out all the after the whistle bullpoop he'd be much more effective. Toews just laughs at the guy and shakes his head

Two 24 hour sports stations in Toronto, FAN590 and TSN1050 are both Maple Leaf centric. You get the odd blurb about other teams but otherwise you would think the Leafs are a prime cup contender.

Not one to female dog about the refs all the time but, they had a tough night last night. The call on Shaw to put them down 2 men (How'd that look on TV?), the initial call on Oduya was a classic dive by 17; No way he should be pushed down that easily and there was one of the most egregious (sp?) too many men calls Ive ever seen.
