The linebackers suck because they are young and inexperienced. If I had told you that Bostic and Greene would be starters at linebacker halfway through their rookie season, you'd have laughed in my face. I highly doubt anyone, including themselves thought they'd end up doing anything other than spot duty on defense and special teams.

Their inexperience combines with the crap we have for safeties, the poor work of corners not named Jennings, and the non-existant offensive line to create one the sh*ttiest defenses in the league.

I'd give some of the young players a chance to stick around, but there are going to have to be a lot of guys to get the boot or get traded to really make a step in the right direction personnel-wise.

Losing Briggs was huge. Anderson has been useless and hasn't helped the rooks at all. A lot will depend on what way they choose to go defensively.

I hate the cover 2 as well. Rod would have just been a smoother transition and could obviously make scheme adjustments within the game. He is under Kiffin this year - when he wasn't he blitzed and didn't seem as confined by it.

Tucker just seems to make no adjustments and, when he does, they are the wrong ones. I do know he has limited options with the injuries but he seems like a bad choice. I hope we see Emery re-tool the defensive roster next year. Looks like he will be able to with all the contracts expiring.
